Isn't this discussion kind of blasphemy on filmscoremonthly

No. It is just plain stupid, really.

hey I agree but it seems that people on this website like to tear down giants

Well, okay, for those of you who prefer to deify otherwise perfectly ordinary people, I withdraw my outrageous question and replace it with: What’s your second favourite seven-and-a-half year period in the working career of Konrad Elfers?

Phew, think I just dodged a bolt of lightning from a clear blue sky!

(I’d avoid the “rank films out of ten” thread, if I were you. Some get fewer than ten.)

I feel like those scores get a bad rap. The performances may not be as bright as LA or London orchestras, but they're by no means awful. Not to mention, Jerry probably understood that his use of synths would be able to cover up or boost performance issues.

He really could have performed anywhere. A low-budget movie like LINK didn't need the national philharmonic but that's what he wanted. I think if he wasn't happy with the Hungarian orchestras...he wouldn't use them!

Remember he tried recording Total Recall in Munich. He didn't settle for that weak performance though it was definitely the cheaper option.

Yes, needy people with low self steam try to do that.

It is kind of funny in a pathetic way.

Low Self Steam?
Where's John Cleese when you need him?

Fortunately, I don’t generally suffer from feelings of low self-esteem. However, you need to be very careful with your casual remarks, because it’s one of the cruellest things you can say to someone who does suffer from it.

So it's stupid to be critical towards composers YOU like? But not towards composers you don't like?
