In the 60s Mancini's M.O. regarding his London scores was that he recorded the film tracks at CTS in London, using John Scott in the orchestra, but re-recorded for album back in the states.

The scores for Charade, Arabesque and Two For the Road were recorded at CTS Bayswater in London with the album tracks recorded in the US. The shot of Mancini conducting Arabesque was clearely for the album.

If the score tapes for Charade were found then surely the Arabesque tapes exist? However, my impression is that there is less music in Arabesque and the key elements are on the re-recorded album....Main theme, Yasmin's theme, Facade, Zoo Chase

Looking forward to Kino/Lorber's September release of ARABESQUE on Blu-Ray. Not quite up to CHARADE but great 60's eye candy and a fine Mancini score.

In the late 60s when I was a young teen first getting into soundtracks--initially the Bond scores and then other spy scores--the Arabesque LP was already out of print and impossible to find. I don't think I found a copy for several years.
