Apparently, some LP/CD cover designers don't like to clutter up their designs with track lists, figuring that they are already on the LP label or CD itself. OK, unless you want to refer to the track listing while the recording is playing. Hence, the sticker.
Simple. No time. The sleeve had to be done while the tracklistings wasn't ready yet.
I once received an album with a tracklist sticker on it, with the printer guy still writing out the tracklist. He got it wrong anyway, but he knew a lot about begonias. Two stars on Yelp.
It was the same with Jurassic Park : The Lost World. They must have produced that 3D packaging months in advance, and then just put a sticker on the back when they knew what the track listing was. And it was probably done by hand, because it's a good way off being straight
Ha! It has never even occured to me that THE LOST WORLD had the track listings on a sticker, but checking the disc now, it does! Weird that I've had this for 25 years and never paid any attention to it.
