So I thought a separate thread for this might be a nice diversion, even if this never comes to series. As posted by dragon here: https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=144853&forumID=7&archive=0 DARK CITY---Alex Proyas said he is developing a tv series based on his 1998 sci fi movie.
So, assuming it's something along the lines of the look and feel of the film (I naturally expect some difference), what composers would you want to see? I'm still of the mind a TV series doesn't need one single composer for every episode. Sometimes that works, but I remember all the TV series of yesteryear that shook things up with different approaches and ideas by having multiple composers contribute, and I like that. It's one of the things I like about, for example, "The Orville". So, with Trevor Jones being apparently retired, we'll have to think differently. Though I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility he'd score the pilot or some key episodes here and there, and do a theme for the series.

This is actually one movie that I think is perfectly suited for turning into a series. It presents a world that is largely unexplored and unexplained in the film with a lot of interesting and iconic characters. Kiefer Sutherland is so great and ridiculous in the film. Also, I think THE MATRIX used leftover sets from this film for some of their rooftop scenes, no? It lent a real “stagey” look to those sequences which I thought was great since they take place IN the matrix.

Anybody heard anything about this? I just did a quick search and don't see any updates. Maybe it fell apart.

My first thought was "Hey, that would be cool." My second thought was "That would be the never-ending mystery box show."

I guess this isn't happening anymore. Just did a search, came up empty on anything new.
