Sony Classical did a box set of their Williams albums (JOHN WILLIAMS: CONDUCTOR), but there's never been a comprehensive box of the Philips years. I had bought all of my Williams Philips CDs over the last couple of years and, individually, they can be found far cheaper than this box set, but there's obviously convenience in the packaging! I sure hope that the price will be adjusted (the price for the Sony set also substantially dropped). My experience is that these are not as easy to find as the Columbia disks - at least not over here (and imports are close to impossible now). Then there's also the problem with the occasional PDO disk rot.

How can by Request and Pops Britannia be on the same disc ? Where's That's Entertainment ? Must be a 22 disc set. Lucky to be me is not a BPO album but it's nice to have it included. I believe those albums have been truncated and combined, because of repeated material on the other discs. And that’s entertainment is in there I think….. wasn’t included on some early promo materials, but I’ve seen it included for sure

21 discs. $92.00 US. Covers the first half of his tenure at the Pops. I think I asked you this a few months ago, but does Sony's "John Williams Conductor" set cover the last half of his Pops tenure, making both of these sets together his complete Pops tenure?

That's correct. Got it, I think that's what you said last time as well Thanks for the info, I'll definitely be seeking out this set to complete my collection! It's really cool to hear all of these recordings, and I'm wondering for any of them if Williams adjusted certain elements or instruments or just focused on fitting the rhythm and level of each instrument to his particular ear?
