The Magnificent Seven The Big Country Hallelujah Trail Lonesome Dove Quigley Down Under Take A Hard Ride Dances With Wolves How The West Was Won Lonely Are The Brave Rio Conchos (I’m sneaking in other favorites like Ride The High Country, One Little Indian, The Good the Bad the Ugly and Giant which I consider a modern western.)
Albert Glasser's THE CISCO KID available from Kritzerland. There was 1 track of this on an old Starlog LP, THE FANTASTIC FILM MUSIC OF ALBERT GLASSER, and it stuck with me all these years until a whole CD came out. It's only one title but the rest of you have done a pretty good job listing stand-outs.
Thank you for recognizing my friend, Al Glasser and his score. He also orchestrated and conducted THE RETURN OF JESSE JAMES by Ferde Grofe. It's a virtually unrecognized work, and is quite good.
