Overall a solid thematic orchestral score. It's a little bit HTTYD, BRAVE and Moana. The song is a lot of fun too. Unfortunately it really doesn't have much in the way of action music. What there is was pretty generic.
It's like How To Train Your Dragon had a baby with Pirates of the Caribbean. It's fun and enjoyable, but not quite up to original Mancina/Tarzan standards. Also, the Dolby Atmos on streaming is delightful! In the past Mancina has had moments in scores that almost sound like they're in mono but I feel like this score was really opened up and large sound-wise.
I don't know what happened to Mancina, he used to write amazing action music now it's primarily dull percussion loops. I love everything about Moana other than the action music in the film. Sea Beast is great other than the action music. Listen to his scores for Planes and Planes Fire and Rescue. They're some of the best action music Ive heard in decades.
Twister will always be one of my favorite action scores. I listen to that LaLaLand release all the time. It's nice to see Mancina bac and there are some nice moments in this score, but overall it didn't hook me, like a Sinbad or Water Horse. I need to go back and give it another listen.
