Thierry may see these kinds of list threads as a blight, but one thing they've done is prompted me to go back into my collection and explore stuff I hadn't listened to in a long time (listening to Accidental Tourist right now), or search out new things I've seen people list that I wasn't aware of before.

It kind of helps to winnow down a world of choices (as far as new purchases, etc) if I know someone else values something that I'm totally ignorant of.

As far as Williams cues go, my #1 would probably be the Love Theme from Superman.
After that it gets hard.
Probably something from Jaws 2, and then something from Empire Strikes back.
Though I no longer love the movie, the score for E.T. still tickles my happy spot in a way only a very few scores can.

It my be the height of bourgeoisie taste in film score circles, but I grew up in Williams heyday. I faintly recall being taken to Poseidon Adventure as a toddler and was the perfect age to experience every other big event film from S&L starting with Jaws on opening day.
Williams music was the instrumental soundtrack for my adolescence, the way it was for a lot of other Gen X'ers, I'm sure.
All this stuff is embedded in my DNA now.

I really like this track too:

The Road to Memphis--The Reivers

A bit of trivia: at the end of the arrival in Memphis sequence, they drive up to the 5135 Kensington Avenue house that was in "Meet Me in St. Louis". This scene was filmed on the MGM lot and that house was demolished in 1970.
