LOL.
ACE ELI & TTT is gonna give I.Q and SECONDS a run for it's money as ill-fitting bed-fellows big grin

I've always liked ACE ELI but hardly listen to TTT.
Intrigued to discover what extras will be on ACE (and the sonic improvement should be cool).

Both 70s Goldsmith scores largely tied to flight… seems like a logical pairing, to me. Obviously TTT with The Blue Max would have made even more sense with the war aspect. But hardly as weird a pairing as IQ and Seconds IMO… or for that matter The Stripper and SPYS! smile

I’ve somewhat the reverse of you Kev: I have always adored Tora! Tora! Tora!, but Ace Eli underwhelmed me and I hardly ever listen to it. I’m hoping the expansion and remaster really opens up this score to my appreciation at last, as so many other remastered Goldsmith expansions have certainly done.

Hopefully this Fox-labelled series will feature "The Chairman" for Black Friday.

Otherwise, I've no interest in these consistently poorly-paired presentations. The artwork is boring and visually irrelevant to either film and they make a good argument for waiting and getting a download instead at some future point, where one or other of the scores can be picked for half the cost or less. Might be different if there was a worthy graphic presentation, but what they're offering could hardly be less desirable. The first title you see on the cover is the much bolder Tora,Tora Tora, with two unrelated comedy-like figures standing alongside it. What kind of graphic is that?

Ace Eli is remastered and expanded

I don't know if I'd say "expanded" but our presentation is very different and there may be some mixes that haven't been released before.

I have never, ever, not once cared in the slightest, tiniest bit if two scores on separate CDs within a single double case are somehow related. Why in the world would I?

Thanks LLL. Love both of these scores - I look forward to hearing the Ace Eli with a "reduced mag wow" presentation

I'm with you. I more line up with Kev on the pairing; while there may be story theme connections, musically, they're north & south, but with the above as my guiding principle, any issues with any pairings don't even warrant a minor shrug. I'll be glad to have a likely better sounding, and certainly better organized Ace Eli, as I know the detail and care Neil puts into that aspect, if these are his, and I missed the 2011 Tora, which apparently had an opinion-of-the-music-improving jump in the sound quality.

"Why in the world" would anyone take the time to write about something they have never, ever, not once cared the slightest, tiniest bit about?

Because other people clearly do care about this thing that I have never, ever, not once cared in the slightest, tiniest bit about, and because I have never, ever, not once cared in the slightest, tiniest bit about this, it made me slightly curious as to why in the world I would. It would seem that you do, Basil, but you have not explained why, so my slight curiosity remains unsated.

But has LLL not recently released some titles which were with Varese!

Yavar, please can you assist?

Thanks
