To keep our numbers up, we need to recruit. We need ideas, people! How do we start bringing people in?

Idea: make a popular video game! Angry Nirds!
|
|
|
|
 |
Idea: get an animal named after us. And it needs to fit. So what do Soundtrack Nerds normally do? We put a cd in a player, and press "play". Then we sit still for 45-78 minutes, sometimes with mouth slightly agape, staring into space. We get into detailed and pointless arguments about science fiction/fantasy films, and their representations on cd. And we fail to impress women, at least positively. Hmm. So that means we need to find an animal that could justifiably be named something like Lesser Twit Querelous Measurecounter Moobed Phlegm Righteous Shatnermonger Right?

How about spreading something, what you kids today call a "phleme" or something. It could be "The Soundtrack Paradox." This would be like "The French Paradox," where the French eat so much more cheese than Americans, but don't have the same fat-related problems. (Ditto, "The Mexican Paradox" where Mexico eats more saturated fats but has fewer heart-related health issues.) So, what would be "The Soundtrack Paradox"?

So, what would be "The Soundtrack Paradox"? Got it!------------> Without ever eating legumes, vegetables or any kind of dietary fiber (EVER!), soundtrakkies can produce 2-3 times the flatulence of the average human...

Couldn't we just force people to join with the threat of violence?

To keep our numbers up, we need to recruit. We need ideas, people! How do we start bringing people in? How about make this a nicer place? People might be less likely to leave that way too. Cheers

To keep our numbers up, we need to recruit. We need ideas, people! How do we start bringing people in? We could argue more. People love to argue.

How about make this a nicer place? People might be less likely to leave that way too. Cheers That might work, Stephen, but then I like Nic’s thinking as well. Could we maybe combine the two, somehow? The FSM "good cop, bad cop recruiting strategy".

What about posting obviously made up politically incorrect stuff. Total shite. There's bound to be an influx of woke snowflakes. It would push numbers up, if only briefly.

Here is my penny’s worth. I got my niece into collecting scores & her biggest complaint is she never knows what is coming out ahead of time. Her words “what’s the big secret”!? She buys Blu Rays & sometimes knows months ahead when a film is coming out & so plans her income. Literally this happened a week ago, LA LA Land put out some great titles with no advance knowledge & my niece spent her free income on films from Amazon. She would have gotten two but the money is gone, now the scores my still be about when she is able to purchase them or maybe not. But every label likes to play “games” & in my opinion that is no longer the way things are these days. The more we know the better we are able to plan & hell maybe even generate some sales by telling another person, “I know you like XXXX(Insert title) did you know that the music is coming out” Well, that is my thoughts. Even I now miss releases as I am not here every single hour to see what folks are chatting about. Andy b I'm also fed up with that stupid guessing games. Waiting and waiting and then one disappointment after another. I haven't bought a LLL- or Intrada CD since two years, because there was nothing I wanted to have. And then suddenly you run out of money and LLL produces three 4-CD sets you want to have. I really like to know what the labels are planning to release, so that I can plan too.

Might they be seeking to avoid the appalled howls of anguish and bitter recriminations from unsympathetic posters when a release falls over at the last moment or is delayed due to unexpected developments? Sure, it's one of the reasons. But I'm more curious about, what labels are planning to release, not what they release. That's another story. If I know what the labels are try to release I can at least a little bit calculate. And I'm not furious, if something's not going to happen. The labels try what they can, but everbody knows how difficult it is to licence a soundtrack.

I thought there were a billion Zimmer fans? Where are they???? It's the Zimmer forum after all. Most of them have got more sense than to come here only to be called idiots… I don't have to come here to be called a idiot. I can get that at work or at home.
