Wanker is recording his score to the upcoming hot garbage Roland Emmerich CGI fest film.

Looking forward to what the score might be, but given it's to an Emmerich film, I wont' set my expectations too high.

Still kind of disappointed this isn't David Arnold we're talking about here for the score.

David Arnold hasn't scored a Roland Emmerich film is 23 years.

By now there are more Emmerich films not scored by Arnold than that there are, stop dwelling on the past. That partnership is over and it's unlikely they'll ever reunite again.

Indeed. Moreover, Wanker changed his name to Wander more than 10 years ago. But it appears Justin still finds the composer's original surname unbelieveably hilarious, so he must keep harping on it, forever and ever.

As a long-time Emmerich fan, I'm really looking forward to this. In fact, it's one of the upcoming "big" movies I look forward to the most. Kloser has now moved up in the system, and is a co-producer, so a solo Wander effort sounds quite intriguing.

Not sure why the thought of seeing Arnold on this was even entertained. It is extremely rare to see a composer/director teaming up again after the said composer was fired from their last collaboration. (e.g. "The Patriot").

The Jackson/Shore case still amuses me - even if I still think the collaboration for the Hobbit trilogy was enforced from behind the scenes.

I just saw the film. Big disappointment.

Score by Justin Wanker...I mean Thomas Wander and Harald Kloser was mostly as expected. I.e. not very exciting.

I know people say don't rely on reviews, go see the film and decide for yourself. But in this case I think you should've trusted the reviews.

As dumb a movie as can be had. And not even a rip-roaring score to make the investment worth it.

As it turned out, I actually loved this movie -- currently on my 7th place of the year (out of 77). It did lack some Emmerich elements in terms of narrative build-up, but it had the right components; the different setpieces he's so good at (basically "mini-films") and wild, creative ideas. The score, however, didn't do much for me.

Ok Thor. Normally I respect your input and ideas about films/scores.

But this movie was garbage. Pure garbage. Not even laughably bad. It was just CRAP.

What can I say? Emmerich is one of my alltime favourite directors, and this one ticked off a lot of the boxes about things I like about him.
