Downloaded this release and was a bit disappointed that the theme isn’t really present. Even the music that plays over the opening logo isnt present. Doesnt seem like much is memorable.

Hm did you listen to it all? The title music is at the end of the first track.
the soundtrack for Season of Superman & Lois is so good by Dan Romer and his Superman theme for the show is amazing. I liked Blake Neely's Superman theme from Supergirl Season 2 and the last 2 Arrowverse crossovers but for this show Romer's theme for this series fits this version of Superman better.
Currently watching through the first series (the whole of which is oddly on BBC iPlayer for anyone in the UK who wants to catch it) - quite an enjoyable show, basically the middle aged version of Smallville. Tyler Hoechlin (not hotline... thanks spellcheck) isn't perhaps everyone's idea of how Superman should look (he's a bit lean and I don't think of Superman having stubble) but he does a good job in the lead role.
I can't say much of the music really jumped out at me enough to get the album; it feels quite similar in style to the numerous other DC shows, being scored from moment to moment without making a huge impression. I do however like the main theme/motif. However, in a covid induced feverish moment it did occur to me that Romer's main theme isn't actually that far from the original Fortress of Solitude theme, but instead of going up in the middle, it goes down a note. Probably a total coincidence but, if not, a nice nod.
This show is really good. Miles better than all the other shows from the Arrowverse today! It feels like a mix of Smallville and Man of Steel. A tv show that looks like a movie. I've only seen season 1 though. I want to binge season 2.
Love the main theme by Romer. That opening track really hypnotized me from the very first second I pushed the play button for the pilot. The rest of the emotional stuff on the album is almost as good as this, but the action stuff could be better, I think. Excited for season 2!
Just listened to the samples at Qobuz and am really impressed with many of the tracks. Instant purchase. I haven't watched the series but no excuse now it's on BBC I-player.
I listened to the score once when it released and it was WAAAY to minimalistic for me. But I remember liking the first 5 minutes of track 1 and the epic "The First Son Of Krypton". But I have to listen to it again since the new Neely stuff also gets more and more minimalistic and chances are, that I'll like it more after a second listen. The only thing I don't get is that Dan Romer tries to compose as epic as possible and than record it with a REALLY small chamber orchestra. Sounds irritating sometimes. And sadly the score suffers from 'Hans Zimmer' endings where its just build up and build up and than it apruptly stops (https://youtu.be/IHw0-zx5D7Y?list=OLAK5uy_kWCtT0d8dcE7AoD00JaWtad5eg7gDtXvY&t=218). Neely did this better by a lot. But the new Superman theme is good.
