I've got a question for you all regarding the Aladdin score by Alan Menken (animated version, 1992). Was there ever a promotional, Cast&Crew, or For Your Consideration soundtrack pressed?

It's such an iconic score from the Disney Renaissance and it also won Academy Awards for both song and score. The OST omits plenty of the underscore, so for now we are patiently waiting for this to be announced as a Legacy Collection release smile

I would love to hear your thoughts on the score and it's influences / inspiration. One that I have noticed is that the Jafar theme heard in "Jafar's Hour" and "The Battle" is influenced by Georges Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1 - Prélude

which is also similar to the melody played by the oboe in Maurice Ravel's Shéhérazade, M. 17: I. Asie
