I'm deciding if I should get this. The Blu Ray/digital Copy is pretty expensive but I can grab the digital copy off of iTunes for $5 dollars. Really enjoyed the film back in the day when I was an idolized romantic. Now I'm a jaded aging King worn out by the travesties of time. Apparently someone who worked on the film said they messed up the color timing on the Blu Ray release. On the plus side I could hear John Barry's lovely score in context of the film.

Know what? I had a look at this film a while back and.. it looked like the kind of stuff they show in the weekday afternoons for old ladies, with lots of soft focus and ... sort of Woman's Own magazine or Mills and Boon romance. Not entirely sure it's for me, much as I admire both Reeve and Seymore. And of course Barry.

Am I wrong in my impression anyone?

KING SOLIUM:

I bought the bluray SOMEWHERE IN TIME a long time ago just because I like Barry's score---I am not a fan of the actual movie. The bluray is $9.99 on Amazon (I don't know if it includes the digital copy).
If you buy the bluray, it comes with special features that may not come with the itunes version. The special features include BACK TO SOMEWHERE IN TIME Documentary, Feature Commentary with director Jeannot Szwarc and the Somewhere In Time Fan Club.

For bluray.com's review of the bluray and its special features, check the link.

Yes...and no.

The film is definitely worth having and viewing. The time travel element is handled well and Reeves and Seymour are really fine together. Since it's mostly "them", and they have Barry's splendid score supporting them, it works beautifully beyond what many presume to be a Hallmark Movie of the Week. IMO, of course.

No Hallmark movie could ever have one of the most subtle paradoxes ever in a movie involving time travel. This one does.

Just where did that pocket watch originate?

I remember virtually nothing about this film. That is reason enough to revisit it.

This is a movie ripe for a 4K UHD release. If Howard The Duck got one, so should Somewhere In Time.
