We are back again with a new issue of our on-line publication dedicated to Morricone: Maestro #21.
You will find some exclusive infos, comments and articles, new records, and some “old” and recent news.
A big change: our base chimai.com migrates to a wiki: https://chimai.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

The main articles are as follows :

- Special guest: Enrico PIERANUNZI, great pianist, performer of numerous scores for Morricone : exclusive and long interview
- La cuccagna : film review
- De Roubaix-Morricone: comparisons and differences (two columns)
- Catherine Howe (singer in A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe): interview
- La disubbidienza: last Lado-Morricone film (film review)
- Crepa padrone, crepa tranquillo: the projectand its reprise
- Stefano Di Battista, saxophonist : interview for his CD "Morricones Stories"

... and more (a thick issue of 70 pages). Table of contents here: https://chimai.miraheze.org/wiki/Fanzine

So no need to register, the access is direct now to read or upload the review (document in color, in pdf format, in English).

Good reading.

Thanks patrick, looks another good one.
Well done for tracking down Cathrine Howe, i have a few non-ennio scores where she has sung on.

Thanks, Bill.
The readers will find varied topics and articles in the issue.

For instance, there is also an article by great organist Giorgio Carnini, originally published in a specialized Italian review, translated by Manuceau. He explains some musical parenthood beteween some scores main themes and evokes with emotion his last dialogues and project with Ennio.

Only read a couple of articles so far, but another great issue. Thanks for doing this - it’s important.

We Ennio fans are truly spoiled rotten. With the news that the latest edition of Maestro magazine has been released it's time to cancel all engagements and prepare to take on the mammoth read that this publication is, packed with brilliant news, articles and links to die for.

The links are as essential and exciting as the magazine itself. It is also a prompter to dig out some of those LP's/CD's/tapes that we might have neglected to listen to for a while. With 70 pages it will be at least Christmas before I get through all of it.

A picture paints a thousand words so, if you can imagine Issue #1 as an Egyptian Pyramid then that is the amount of information contained within that we got with that first issue. You could be forgiven for thinking that's it, that's all that could ever be written about one man and his music. But no. To date we now have another 20 Pyramids side by side with even more to come.

The bonus is that, at any time, you can start all over.

For fear of leaving anyone out I send my thanks and congrats to EVERYONE involved in researching for, writing for and producing this amazing Maestro magazine.

Thanks a lot, Tall Guy and Brofax, it's a great pleasure to receive such compliments.

It encourages us to continue, as it is always a hard task, but so passionate, and we hope, useful.

Good reading to everyone else. And everyone who wish could contribute through some writing.

Yet another great issue and very much appreciated! I especially enjoyed the La Cuccagna article by Steven Dixon. One film score completely unknown to me is Arabella from 1967…I hope someone can write about the music who has access to the film.
