A long and distinguished career indeed. 'Goldfinger', 'You Only Live Twice', The music and songs to 'Doctor Doolittle', The screenplay, music and songs to 'Scrooge', and 'Victor Victoria' (shared with Henry Mancini). Thank you very much, Thank you very much, Thank you very, very, very much! R.I.P.

I always have said and will say that I seriously dislike musicals with the exception of "Sweet Charity" but most of all "Scrooge". It was, is and will be for me the best "Christmas carol" of all, musical and non-musical. The sets the lighting the colours AND lot of fantastic songs with "Happines" the most beautiful. Any composer can resign with justified pride and be granted a place in eternity having created such material.

Don't forget the unused "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" from "Thunderball" which was recorded by Shirley Bassey but was dropped from the film (but can be heard instrumentally when Bond enters Cafe Martinique).

Bless you, Disco Stu. I hope his passing doesn't set back the possible work that was being planned for a CD release of Scrooge.

"Scrooge" still remains my all time Christmas film and musical.

A fine songwriter and, by all accounts, a hellofa nice guy. Sad to learn of his passing, but age 90 is a "good innings" as they say in England.

When I first moved down to Salisbury, I was in the "Pound Shop" one day and noticed copies of his autobiography, "The Music Man" on the shelves. Since it was only £1, I bought one and was quite captivated by the reading of it. I went back a few days later and picked up the remaining copies, four or five in all, and sent them out to film music mates of mine. The postage to send them cost more than the price of the book! But I think my effort was appreciated.

Thank you, Mr Bricusse!
