MONDAY, OCTOBER 25 ANTLERS---trailer released for the horror movie starring Keri Russell. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYZWjHznRUA SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME---photo released of Spider-Man being pursued by Doctor Octopus. HAWKEYE---poster released for the Disney+ superhero tv series starring Jeremty Renner. RUST---production of the movie was halted pending an investigation into the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halnya Hutchins when she was killed after Alec Baldwin fired a pistol. Reportedly, armorer Hannah Gutierrez had three prop pistols, supposedly loaded with blanks, and gave one to assistant director David Halls, who announced it was a "cold pistol" (no live rounds) and gave it to Baldwin, who then fired it and killed Hutchins. Earlier, camera operators had complained to production managers about gun safety after Baldwin's stunt double accidentally fired two live rounds after being told it was a cold pistol. One camera operator said, “There should have been an investigation into what happened. There were no safety meetings. There was no assurance that it wouldn’t happen again. All they wanted to do was rush, rush, rush.” In response to the shooting, THE BOYS showrunner Eric Kripke posted, “no more guns with blanks on any of my sets ever. We’ll use VFX muzzle flashes. Who’s with me?” JAMES BOND---Edgar Wright (BABY DRIVER) said he would like to direct a James Bond movie and would return to the original 007 movies with a little humor, “Dark chocolate, Daniel Craig. It’s crying out for another milk chocolate Bond, that’s my theory." He added, “Because I don’t think there’s anything to be gained by continuing in the same vein, and I think it would certainly be interesting to try and… I mean, I do have a take [on Bond], and if they ever ask me, I’ll pitch it to them [laughs], so I’m not going to say it, but when I see some of the names being bandied around, I can’t quite see it, and they seem like Daniel Craig II.” STAR WARS---director Mike Flanagan (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE) posted he wants to direct a STAR WARS horror movie, "Got woken up by the earthquake this morning, sat there for a few minutes just thinking "I'd really love to make a horror movie in the STAR WARS universe..." FREELANCE---John Cena is in talks to star in this Pierre Morel (TAKEN) action comedy movie about a retired Special Forces soldier who is hired as a bodyguard for a female journalist who will interview a dictator. When a military coup overthrows the dictator, the trio flee into the jungle where they must survive the pursuing army and the elements. SEVEN KINGS MUST DIE---Alexander Dreymon will return for the Netflix movie sequel to THE LAST KINGDOM series. TRIVIA--more James Bond movie trivia. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys wrote an instrumental title song for YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE that was titled "Run, James, Run", but for whatever reason, he never submitted it to the James Bond producers for consideration. Instead, it became the title song for The Beach Boys hit album PET SOUNDS. The song recorded by Nancy Sinatra was used in the movie. Put him in charge of 007 immediately.

STAR WARS---director Mike Flanagan (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE) posted he wants to direct a STAR WARS horror movie, "Got woken up by the earthquake this morning, sat there for a few minutes just thinking "I'd really love to make a horror movie in the STAR WARS universe..." Star Wars: Attack of the Xenos Piett: "Lord Vader?" Vader: "Yes, Admiral Piett?" Piett: "My Lord, we've intercepted some transmissions from a nearby planet. It's essentially a rock, but we believe we've detected the wreckage of a ship there. The transmission keeps repeating, but it's an older code, one we've thus far been unable to decipher. All we've learned is that the planet appears in some ancient databases as 'LV-426'" Vader: "THAT is the location of the Rebels' base. Take us into that planet's orbit and prepare my shuttle." Piett: "But my Lord, shouldn't we first send a probe droid to investigate?" Vader: "No, Admiral, a probe droid will alert the Rebels. I will handle this myself! Prepare my shuttle!"

In reading this, I recall that a long time ago Lucas remarked that he'd like to see the other 6 movies done by small, independent filmmakers. Like art films. They certainly would not have turned out worse that what actually happened. I say this knowing full well that there were some fine moments scattered throughout the prequel trilogy. That he would like to see SW 1-6 remade by indie art directors?
