Up to disc 8 FMC-9 Viva Zapata! / Death of a Salesman by Alex North. Already listened to the earlier discs and will get to the rest in the next day or so. The Thief of Baghdad by Miklos Rosza, one of the few released on mass market LP back in the day, is still my favourite.
One forgets the musical talent that must go into writing and performing film music. I was reminded of it while listening to the soloist performances on the disk 4 (Quo Vadis) pre-recordings, where everything is stripped down and the singing is flawless. Plus, hearing the familiar marches at different tempos was... interesting.
