Over on the other side, I knocked together a little poetic ditty (of sorts) for the beautiful Joan, incorporating as many of her beloved Elmer Bernstein's score titles as I could, while still trying to keep it specific in some way. She liked it so much she suggested that I challenge other FSMer's to compose something similar, using the film titles of THEIR favourite film composers* in a like manner. Here's the one I did... When we arrive at God's little acre, At the height of Summer (and Smoke) We take a walk on the wild side, To find desire under the elms, The tree will cast a giant shadow, But baby the rain must fall.. Sent from the rain maker, Like a walk in the spring rain, We Kings (and Queens) go forth, During five days one summer, This is the age of innocence, And although it's the deep end of the ocean, We're not too far from heaven. Over to you. *I expect a BIG influx of Goldsmith inspired ode's

He was not born on the 4th of July but a decade before 1941, there must have been a family plot to push him toward a close encounter with musical greatness. I am forever grateful, for I would have black Sundays indeed, a lost world, stuck home alone with my boring cousins Stanley and Iris or my stepmom if I didn't have his music. Presuming him innocent of any artificial intelligence, he is far and away the most naturally gifted composer of the post-JFK/Nixon era. Once hooked, you will find a new hope in his music. You may find yourself to be a raider of his musical empire. An accidental tourist, if you will, of his Superman-like ability to write melodies and themes. Worry not, for his last crusade in composing music is still ahead of us. Like being in a time tunnel or getting lost in space, like conjuring images of cowboys or wars among the stars, discovering his music quickens the heartbeeps of your soul. May the force (and the fury) be with him, always.

There was once a thief of Baghdad, Who dreamt of being the kings thief. Time after time he cast his wish to the moon. Fleet of foot was he but had failed to steal something of value. Oh,to find an emerald, the green fire. He had the light touch but no,crisis loomed. He thought there was more chance to pass his camel through the eye of the needle. Under the watch of the desert fury
