Great release. I'm in for the lossless download for just £7.59 at Qobuz.

And with this news LLL’s 2021 Black Friday is already on par with any other year! (But I’m still looking forward to the icing on the cake! wink)

If you ONLY HAVE the FYC of this score (and it's the ONLY WAY it's been available before) you need to BIN IT NOW and buy this version.
The FYC only ran to around 28 minutes*.
This release is more than double that and contains far more interesting and diverse music.
I love the little Morricone-like/Cinema Paradiso dance arrangement in some tracks (the Portuguese romance).
Just hearing the opening two cues made it worth the expenditure.
They've even licensed the 'pop song' melody in Christmas (Montage). Now you can get WET WET WET wink
It's a lovely score, brimming in tunefulness and melody.
I hope it sells well for LLL.
We NEED more new releases like this.

*actually, more like 26 minutes, as the track 'Mark's Video' on the FYC is just a repeat of the 'Glasgow Love Theme'.

Agreed 100%. What a beautiful piece of work. I know the movie gets a bad rap with a lot of critics but I like this movie a lot.

Hey Luc, you should try and squeeze LLL into the title of the thread, in case people don't know this is a new release.
Just a thought.

I was really shocked to read, in another thread, that this release had tanked for LLL.
Based on the popularity of the film and its accompanying hit soundtrack album (mainly songs), I would have thought there would be many fans of the film who would gobble this up.
Maybe it hasn't appeared enough to its target audience (fans of the film over score nerds)?
It's such a lovely score, filled with wonderful themes and melodies.
I find the film risible (I'm NOT a Richard Curtis fan in general) but the Craig Armstrong score makes it almost bearable whilst viewing.
I hope this is one of those slow-burns for LLL, which finds its target audience eventually.

To be honest: I was late to the party myself. Main reason: I didn't find out about it through the forums, and when I saw the album aart at an online store, I thought it was a bootleg of some kind, just because of the cover art. The cover art is something I did not associate with anything I had seen from the movie before, so I had no idea this was an official release.

"The cover art is something I did not associate with anything I had seen from the movie before"
-------------------------
It's a flipper cover, with the regular art (red bow/wrap over character stills) on the other side.
I quite like the heart wrapped in red paper as an alternative to the song album cover that was released originally.
The red heart is actually on the original album cover...smaller...In the middle of the wrapped parcel design.
It also might have been a contractual thing, to differentiate from the older album?
Whatever, it's set me off on a Craig Armstrong bender now (played ELIZABETH THE GOLDEN AGE, VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN and Now Playing THE ONE & ONLY IVAN).

Great! My problem with the La-La release were the very short tracks. I don't like albums with too short tracks so this reworked album seems the one for me. Also, it is performed by my co-patriots, the Budapest Art Orchestra which is a plus.

Has anybody else received their copies of this Love Themes for Orchestra album? I received a shipping notice today, even though the original release date was 24 November, and when I came home the CD was in my mailbox! Probably the fastest delivery ever... smile

I haven't listened it yet but it is a pressed CD in a cardboard case.

Mine shipped yesterday, but its coming from Germany to Chicago so I'm guessing I might get it sometime in the next couple of weeks.

Received my copy today big grin In a world where the physical release usually comes weeks or even months (if at all) after the digital release, it was a nice surprise to receive the cd a week before the download will be emailed.

Thanks to everyone involved in this project! It's a wonderful release!

Just heard a few tracks from this "Love Themes For Orchestra" release and I've promptly headed over and brought the CD. what I heard was lovely, can't wait for the CD to arrive to listen to it fully (yes, the CD purchase did come with a lossless download but I still want to wait for the CD).
