I've been thinking about it and when comes to labels such as Intrada and La La Land, they've got a customer for life. I've been so happy with what they've put out over the years and will continue to purchase their scores on CD, even when the odd score is also released digitally (ie. THE CALL OF THE WILD).
With scores that are not released by the boutique labels, what download store and streaming service would you say offers the best selection of film music?
Qobuz has a wide selection, including former FSM, Intrada, Varèse Sarabande titles. Not sure how it compares to some others. Presumably, others have more or less the same.
I agree with your comments regarding our specialty labels, such as Intrada, LaLaLand, Quartet, Music Box, etc. I gladly buy their releases, both in CD form and downloads. Great booklets, careful presentations, excellent customer service. "Problem" is, by and large, over the past couple od decades I got lots of film music I was interested in, most of the scores I ever wanted are released and I got them. (Good for me, I guess. :-) ) Though the occasional newbie or terrific re-release that I missed out on (the scores on LaLaLand Goldsmith Fox Volumes III and IV, for example) still comes along.
Thanks for the info. I didn't know that Qobuz had former FSM titles. I missed out on some like WHERE EAGLES DARE and am having difficultly finding them for a decent price, so I'm going to have to take a look.
As time has passed, I too have found that the majority of what I was hoping for has been released. Fortunately, I keep on discovering or re-discovering artists. For example, in the late 90's I knew of John Powell mainly because of FACE/OFF. In the last few years I have developed a strong appreciation for his work due to the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON trilogy, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, and THE CALL OF THE WILD.
Actually, the way that Powell's themes have a circled around in my mind reminds me of the time when I was first discovering film music with strong thematic material from the likes of Barry, Goldsmith, Horner, Silvestri, Williams, etc. The themes seem so fresh to me and are hard to get out of my head (in a good way).

PRESUMED INNOCENT is interestingly enough one of my all time favorite John Williams scores. I saw the movie way back in 1990 when it came out and thought it was one of Alan J. Pakula's best movies and it had a very, very fine score by John Williams. That title theme never left my head. I have seen the movie twice since, and I always thought it was an outstanding soundtrack. Took me until recently to actually track it down. It really is one of my favorite John Williams scores ever. For some reason, it does not seem to be officially available for download/streaming, though there is a Nic Raine conducted version of the title theme, which is well done.

Let the Right One In used to be available on Amazon but has since disappeared. It is still available on iTunes last I checked. Fantastic score.

The other day I heard that they are making CREED III and decided to go back to the original score to CREED by Ludwig Goransson. I typed CREED into Spotify's search engine and while the sequel came up, the original from 2015 did not. I then tried searching my library where I seemed to remember saving this title. While the score came up, all of the cues were greyed out and not able to be played.
That's the nightmare scenario that I would never risk facing. I have never rented my music, not a single cue, and I don't intend to. I own my copies, and they are locked down on offline physical storage that I control. Period.
Sometimes I window shop on iTunes, and I've noticed that LLL's 15-CD Star Trek Soundtrack Collection is no longer for sale there. It vanished. But the 12-CD Lost in Space 50th Anniversary set is still available on iTunes for now. Naturally I bought both sets on CD.

Going back to the original topic, the Harry Potter game scores from the first six video games based on the films, plus Quiddich World Cup, were once available on iTunes, Amazon, and other places. Now they can't be found anywhere, unless I've missed an obscure site that still has them.
I assume that it's a rights issue/IP thing, especially since none of the released music used any of the themes from the movies (the Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince scores used them in-game but not in the albums), but it's still a shame. Some of the album presentations weren't the best, but the music and themes were often of a really high quality.
