This clip is for the 1963 Oscarcast (1962 films).

It was the first time I watched the Oscars on TV....and ALFRED NEMWAN conducted the orchestra. Usually, Johnny Green conducted in those years, but Newman did it this time.



It's black-and-white. It's the opening of the ceremonies, from red carpet arrivals to overture and then comments from host Frank Sinatra.

Entire clip is about 15 minutes. Newman's bit appears at the 3-minute mark. Some really good shots of him conducting.
