My good friends the Mitchells got me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it! It is much better than the Varese disc because it has both the album AND film version of several tracks, it also has better sound quality. I highly recommend this release.smile

Not too familiar with this but can anyone explain to me the track "3M1" on the Varese box, which track is this in the LLL release?

And which cues from the Varese release are actually Alternates compared to the LLL release?

Just finished this movie and what a fine score this is!

I haven't played it in a while, but did the Varese denote the tracks composed by William Ross, or were they missing from that release?

The Ross cues debut on this release.

But looks like the Ross cues are in fact on the Varèse box set as well… JULIE FIGHTS and MIYAGIS BIG FIGHT. Unless I am missing something?

I stand corrected… guess they are the Alternate cues on the Lala release. Really like the Ross sample… dang. Hard to justify the double dip just for those Ross cues.

Track 27 "Julie And Eric."

And which cues from the Varese release are actually Alternates compared to the LLL release?

On the new album, tracks 28-32. Track 26 was not on the earlier album. What that album called "Trainyard Emotions" is "Julie And Eric Meet."

Thank you for that info! Just ordered the LLL version. I think this is my favorite score from the Karate series!
Very melodic!

I got mine weeks ago. Week before Christmas actually. Had to wait a little bit because "Friday the 13th" was part of the order, but no other delays beyond that.

That's entirely possible. My order for Waterworld is still "Awaiting Shipment" from mid-October 2020.

I received it in late October 2020! LOL

I've noticed that The Monks Arrive on the La-La Land release is 40 seconds shorter than the Varese release. Unless I'm missing it, I haven't found that music anywhere else on the La-La Land album. It doesn't look like it was used in the film either so I'm wondering if anybody knows where it was originally intended to be heard.

It's edited portions of "Getting The Tree" from The Karate Kid Part III which was on one reel of "The Next Karate Kid" tapes, but was not recorded for this film.

Interesting. Thanks for clearing that up.
