A new thread, actually.

It would have been cooler if you ressurected this:

A kind of then and now scenario.

I've never been a big fan of the movie, unlike everyone and their grandmother. I think I've seen it maybe once. The score is charming, for sure, but it needs some serious whittling/re-organization to work as a listening experience. The super short cues don't add much (and don't feel organic to the whole as a T. Newman score often does), so I'll add it to the long queue of whittling projects.

I don't like the film either, Thor.
It's another of those horrible, contrived Richard Curtis productions that scream 'fake, upper class' bollocks.
Every character is horrendous and deserves a gory death, ala HOT FUZZ style.
The only thing I can stomach is the music - I love the new version of Both Sides Now on the song CD too.
Yes, it can be a bit repetitive of those main 3 themes, but it's lovely stuff nonetheless.
I created this new thread so the title would align with their other 4 releases announced today.

I do admit, however, that the instrumental/orchestral versions of "Love is All Around" makes me appreciate that tune more than I've ever done in its original version. But just by a bit.

I've seen the movie once, the one scene that I remember was Alan Rickman trying to buy a gift while Christmas shopping with his wife, and Rowan Atkinson making an art out of wrapping the thing. That scene was hilarious.
I know some people love the film, some hate it, I don't think I had a particularly strong reaction to it, but that scene was very funny.

I don't think I'm alone in saying that most people remember the scene of Hugh Grant's character having that extended walk through the outdoor flea-market as he (and the market and surroundings), go through the 4 seasons. That was my favorite scene.
I cannot recall the music, other than the songs. Is there any place I can listen to the score cues, or must we wait until the 30th when LaLaLand posts them online?

I really like the film. Perfect Christmas entertainment. We watch it on ITV every year.

Really pleased to see the score given a proper release at last.

I think that's from Notting Hill.

This score is fantastic. You people in here with more knowledge about these things than me - why was this score not released years ago? Hell, even my local symphony orchestra here in Stavanger, Norway played it along with the film - to a packed auditorium, two days in a row. Super popular music - but no release, until now.

Why?

My wife loves this movie. She watches it every Xmas. Sometimes I pass, sometimes I watch it with her. I don't mind it. It's got its charm.

She's going to freak when she finds this soundtrack under the xmas tree this year. Thanks, LaLaLand!
