I know Gary Chang had a bit of help on this one, but what are the chances of it ever seeing the light of day? There are some really great moments such as when the Billy Zane character is on the beach toward the end. Beautiful, almost ambient, soundscapes.

I would surely buy a Chang/Zimmer/Mancina CD of this.

I asked Chang about what happened on this score but he declined to comment. So it's still a sore point for him.

HZ & Mancina were hired last laaaaast minute to replace parts of the score, wrote about 20/30 min.

Interesting. I don’t know the politics that occurred on this score, but it would seem Chang’s original work wasn’t gelling with the director, then?

There is a bit of info about it in the book Torn Music. Z and M were brought in to smooth out the alterations the filmmakers did with making the film less violent. Changs score also underwent some radical remixing.

This certainly seems like a score someone like La-La Land may be interested in releasing. Is this held at Sony?
