What are the drinks you serve your friends, or that you look forward to during The Holidays? We're all awaiting the odd concoction that you may be known for, or wish to divulge on this page? What's your limit, or does the wife let you know?

I don't drink, I can't even stomach eggnog anymore.

I never developed a taste for eggnog, mulled wine, or other seasonal cocktails, but Sierra Nevada makes a great Celebration Ale IPA that is only available November and December. They tweak the recipe each year, and it is something I always look forward to.

Oooh! I love Sierra Nevada's I.P.A.'s!

Anyone else a fan of BOMBAY SAPHIRE?

As most of you know, I'm first and foremost a beer guy (lots of specialty micro brewery beers). Some wine, but rarely any fancy cocktails. During Christmas, it's customary in Norway to drink aquavit. I also enjoy other brown licors, like whiskey and especially cognac.

But those "umbrella cocktails" are not really my thing. Perhaps if I'm travelling to some foreign country, I might try one, but very rarely.

I tried to make a glühwein yesterday, which is very seasonal, but it was too sweet even for me. Then I'd rather drink red wine neat.

Never can tell when you might need an umbrella cocktail; it might rain.

I am a fan of Hendricks gin.
Favorite drink: Negroni; gin, sweet vermouth, campari and a slice of orange.

I remember way back in the early sixties my mum would but these little bottles of Snowball at Christmas, & then a few years later on we'd have Jameson Irish Whisky coffee. You could buy a bottle of Jameson Irish coffee ready mixed up (it looks like they've stopped doing it now), you'd heat it & float the cream on top, we even had the special Irish coffee glasses, the only trouble is you'd have cold cream straight out of the fridge & really hot coffee underneath it (so a few scalded lips). Happy days. I don't like mulled wine, or any Christmas drinks really, so it's my usual tipple this Christmas, red wine & maybe later in the day a drop of bourbon.

This is the first time I've seen you use an umlaut, Thor.

I just got a Bartesian cocktail machine a few weeks ago and bought all kinds of cocktail pods for the holidays. I'm normally a big craft beer (especially local microbreweries) drinker and a whiskey neat sipper, but lately I've started to burn out a bit after many years on the repetition of these drinks, hence the booze machine. I'll be having a new year's eve cocktail party for my neighbors and some family and we'll be sampling all kinds of different cocktails concocted by the machine. Should be a fun night!
