If anyone has ever heard of the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, should know that it contains two pipe organs, with the worlds largest being in the convention hall. A new CD has been released featuring themes from a variety of films showcasing the tonal capabilities of this beast of instruments:
The Convention Hall organ contains 7 manuals (keyboards), 449 ranks (sets or voices) and 33,112 pipes. It is the worlds largest and loudest instrument on the planet as set by the Guineas Book of World Records.
Yeah, I would have liked some samples too. Interesting mix of stuff. Would have preferred more film themes vs. classical selections, i suppose there's something for everybody on there. I wonder how many will buy it though.
