I've a soft spot for this film and it's score. It's my favorite Rachel Portman score, overflowing with melody and a (mostly), festive sound. I saw this film when it was out for a week in December (of whatever year), to qualify for Academy Award considerations. I viewed it at The Angelika Film House in Manhattan and it was a snowy winter, so I always associate the film with The Holidays. I'm glad Portman won an Oscar for an earlier work, but I wish she'd gotten at least a nomination for this splendid score. In any event, the film and the score are a treasure!
