A very beautiful main theme that is often heard throughout the entire score. Cool romantic score by David Foster filled with a sense of nostalgia and optimism. It seems that the score is relatively small considering the length of the film, but it would still be very cool if it got a release on CD.

The period of time in which I first watched this film, I clearly associate with good changes in my life and the appearance of new friends. smile

Also great considering this was Foster's first score.

Be sure to check out his 1986 solo album. The track Elizabeth is similar to St Elmos Fire.

I remember back in the early 90s, I was in a teenage choir, and some of the 'hippest' guys had David Foster as their favourite. They constantly played his Olympic theme when we were on tours and stuff (like on the bus stereo). So it was a bit too much for me at the time; I thought he was rather cheesy, like Richard Clayderman.

However, in adult years, I've come to appreciate his talent. I should check out ST. ELMO'S FIRE again one of these days.

I love his score for St. Elmo‘s Fire. His work for STEALING HOME is also fantastic.

I know that Foster‘s music might sound kitschy today - but wait twenty years for what people will say about popular artists today.

In the end, it all comes down to one thing: can a composer write an effective melody?

Foster definitely could.

Maybe if he'd married Katharine McPhee earlier he'd have gotten the Scorpion gig instead of Brian Tyler/Tony Morales.

Yes, I also love Stealing Home.

The saxophone on 01:12 sounds amazing in this track:

I really like his score to If Looks Could Kill.

It's a shame that the original soundtrack album from '91 contains only one track from Foster.

That is quite an orchestral score by Foster, assisted by William Ross.
