Apologies if this film and score has been discussed but I have only recently seen the film. For me personally I just enjoyed this as a great period adventure film with some clever ideas and historical setting. I’ve been familiar with the theme over the previous films but this score just stood out. A glorious big old thematic orchestral film score. For me rare to spot film music of note these days. For the most part Zimmer enthused sound design. But I have played this one repeatedly for nearly a week. Just love the pace. The way it builds. How it develops. A joy. The main theme gets varied workouts as well as nods to classic music scores we all know. The no man’s land confrontation in the film is superb and the score is perfect here - chilling, exhilarating and shocking. The heartbreaking aftermath Lionheart is a pivotal moment that brings a tear to the eye. The powerful and exciting Skydiving is a joy. Which leads to an action packed finale and resolution. This score deserves to be talked up.
