I think we all know the difference between a film set predominantly in a desert locale and others - westerns and whatnot - that may feature some sandy or deserted island backdrops.
But this is FSM, so should I be surprised at the smart alec aside?

And to Laurent...MARCH OR DIE has never been released on LP or CD, but can obviously still be heard while watching the film.

I feel your pain, Kev. Can’t ask a serious question around here any more.

Anyway, I nominate Grand Prix, because one of the races is at the Zandvoort circuit, very much set in the north Netherlands dunes.

I think those sandy scenes were actually filmed on, either, Ainsdale or Formby due to the quality of the grain.

,,, and what of Villa Rides!, El Condor, Posse, etc.?

Thinking about the magnificent EL CONDOR, I was tempted to open a new thread:
"Your Favourite MAURICE JARRE Desert not yet released score".

Only in Tadlow VILLA RIDES! The Western Film Music of MAURICE JARRE, you can find something (a very little something).

Though it wasn't on your list Kev, my favorite "Desert Jarre" is without-a-doubt Jesus of Nazareth.

Oh, and wouldn't it fair to also include Jarre's westerns as "desert" scores -- Villa Rides, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, Red Sun, etc., seeing as those, technically, are set in the desert as well?
