SEASON 9:
"The Butter Shave" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-butter-shave.html Man -- an episode about them having mustaches seems like a huge missed comedic opportunity! George pretending to be handicap to take advantage of people at work, is almost as bad as Eric Cartman entering the Special Olympics in an episode of "South Park". Notes: Another "Hello, Newman..." Continuity: Kramer still has the hot tub. The score cue for the scooter chase, is not on the score release. This episode is dedicated "In Memory of our Friend" Brandon Tartikoff. While he worked in the industry on other series and projects, he appears to have no connection to the show and simply must have been the friend on some of the cast/production crew/producers. RATING: *** *** **.5 (Note to Me: 16:59/gif) Jerry: to George, "You know how hard it is just telling people I know you?" Jerry: "Well, it must be comforting to know you'll be going straight to Hell at no more than three miles an hour." "The Voice" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-voice.html Borderline classic episode. George is just a horrible person, but I just love how he refuses to leave his job even though everybody hates him. Trivia: You can buy ketchup and mustard in the same bottle now (I have no idea if you could back then -- I've never liked either and never purchased them); it's a product called Kustard. RATING: *** *** **.8 Jerry: "Elaine, breaking up is like knocking over a Coke machine: you can't do it in one push; you got to rock it back and forth a few times and then it goes over." George: "I'm a weed in Hitler's bunker." "The Serenity Now" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-serenity-now.html "Serenity now!" is what we al remember, but it's a very very small portion of the episode. RATING: *** *** ** Elaine: "What happened to the new Jerry?" Jerry: "He doesn't work here anymore." "The Blood" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-blood.html . Notes: Kramer calls Jerry's parents "every week". RATING: *** *** ** (NtM: 9:20/gif, 12:55/gif) Jerry: "This about me?" Elaine: "No." Jerry: "Then I lost interest." Jerry: On getting blood from Kramer, "I can feel his blood inside me. Borrowing things from my blood." "The Junk Mail" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-junk-mail.html Standard episode. RATING: *** *** ** Jerry: "Where there's Chinese food, there's leftovers."

Continuing SEASON 9:
"The Merv Griffin Show" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-merv-griffin-show.html Good enough episode, just above getting a standard label. Man, a sexy girl like that wants to put her arms around, toys would be nowhere in my mind. Notes: Kramer doesn't like clowns. RATING: *** *** **.5 "The Slicer" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-slicer.html For the kind of convoluted plot, I'm giving it half a star above the eight-stars which usually signifies a standard episode. Notes: The mole was on the backside and would not be visible in the photo. RATING: *** *** **.5 George: to Kramer, "You're not taking a deli-slicer to my boss!" "The Betrayal" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-betrayal.html Another standard episode whose only distinguishing feature is the gimmick of reversing the episode. RATING: *** *** ** George: "You can stuff your sorries in a sack, mister!" George: "I demand reparations; I should get to sleep with Elaine -- that's the only way to punish you." Jerry: "That doesn't punish me, it punishes Elaine. And cruelly, I might add." Jerry: "What the hell is e-mail?" "The Apology" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-apology.html Another standard episode with barely any highlights. An entire episode about George having to go to a rage-a-holics meeting would have been interesting (perhaps forced to go after an incident with a city official or cop), but here the idea is barely used to any potential. Notes: So, a quick recap: Kramer has kicked the door open of a bathroom stall and taken a picture of a man using the toilet, and now watched naked guys showering. RATING: *** *** ** "The Strike" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-strike.html The infamous "Festivus" episode isn't as memorable as I had remembered. Notes: Kramer hasn't had a job in like ten years, until this episode. Then he gets fired, so I guess he can collect unemployment now. RATING: *** *** ** "The Dealership" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-dealership.html If it wasn't for George and the whole snack machine incident, the episode would not have been what it was. The only thing missing was George commenting: "George is getting very upset here!" Notes: Where did George get the Twix if the machine was now empty? RATING: *** *** **.5

Continuing SEASON 9:
"The Reverse Peephole" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-reverse-peephole.html Another pretty standard episode. Newman was just wasted here, he was more like filler. RATING: *** *** ** Jerry: "What are you, a mid-evil dungeon master?" "The Cartoon" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-cartoon.html A good premise to have a girlfriend that looks like Jerry, but it ultimately didn't pay off.. Notes: Jerry says he's never had a TV special. In real life, this episode aired at the beginning on 1998 and the TV special "Jerry Seinfeld: 'I'm Telling You for the Last Time'" aired about half a year later. RATING: *** *** ** "The Strong Box" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-strong-box.html For once George was honest and it completely backfired on him. Overall, a pretty standard episode, though I liked the premise (which feels like it wasn't really fully used) of George having two girls that refuse to break up with him. RATING: *** *** ** George: "I'd like to sleep with a lot of other women." Jerry: "Always popular." "The Wizard" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-wizard.html It's nice to see George get a little more just deserts for how he handled Susan's death so callously. Still not enough, but the show is almost over, so it's unlikely he'll ever really pay on-screen. Notes: This episode reminds me that George is supposed to have a essentially full-time job running Susan's charity, but he's not been there for quite some time and George says he hasn't seen the parents in a while. Kramer just worked one of two days a few episodes again, so Jerry's comment about Kramer working, is wrong. RATING: *** *** ** Jerry: To his parents about Kramer, "You feed him, he'll never leave." NO LOAD FOUND. The page that is supposed to have the episode, has no video. "The Burning" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-burning.html "The Bookstore" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-bookstore.html Another standard episode. RATING: *** *** ** Kramer: "We should have gotten some collateral from him, like his bag of cans, and his other bag of cans."

Finishing SEASON 9:
"The Frogger" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-frogger.html Just above a standard episode. Notes: Both the score cues are on the score release: https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=144439&forumID=1&archive=0 RATING: *** *** **.5 Elaine: "This pen smells really bad. Then why do I keep smelling it?" "The Maid" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-maid.html . RATING: *** *** ** Elaine: "You know, I could have killed you and no one would have known." "The Puerto Rican Day" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-puerto-rican-day.html . Notes: That's three or four different fake names Kramer has used more than once. RATING: *** *** *** "Hey, jackass, get me a Diet Dr. Pepper!" I am skipping this as it's a clip show. "The Chronicle" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-chronicle-aka-clip-show.html "The Finale" http://seinfeld-episodess.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-finale.html I remember being very disappointed at the finale. Re-watching it now, I find myself still disappointed. Its not particularly funny, it's rushed, characters are thrown in for little cameos (and I don't mean the witnesses in court), and many things are never resolved. Notes: I thought George took his shirt off when he went to the bathroom. I also seem to recall (maybe I'm wrong) that George said he sits when he pees. And one final "Hello, Newman...". Only two of the score cues from are on the score release. (NtM: 7:45/gif) RATING: *** *** **.5 Jackie: "Oh, and by the way, they're real, and they're spectacular." And so ends the show. There were no TV movies, no continuations, no reboots, no remakes, no spin-off's. In the last few years Jerry Seinfeld has said he has no interested in doing the show again, so anything new would have to be a spin-off. Overall I'm glad I spent the time re-watching the show. A number of episodes were forgettable, but when it was good, it was very good. Stand out episodes from a quick thinking, include the "contest", Jerry's car being stolen, and perhaps one of the top three highlights of the series -- the soup NAZI. Well, next Saturday I'll start a new "Justin Re-watches" TV series post, for a series that is coming back with new episodes in the next year.

As posted today in one of dragon52'[/s]b film/television news/trivia thread: SEINFELD---Jerry Seinfeld hinted a revival of his hit series may be in the future after mentioning a “little secret” and “something is going to happen” related to the series ending. He added, “It hasn’t happened yet. And just what you are thinking about, Larry [David] and I have also been thinking about, so you’ll see… you’ll see.”
