Just noting that's a year-old post, has there been any word since?
Yes, I think only an album release of that musical episode from season 2 has happened, there's been no release of any other season 2 episode scores that I know of.
Well, at least it got a full “five year mission” which is more than TOS (or even Enterprise) received.
Seems to be a new pattern these days (similar to seven seasons being standard during the Berman era) since Discovery and Lower Decks also got five seasons each. Star Trek: Prodigy seems to be the only show of the Kurtzman era to be clearly ended prematurely on short notice.
That also suggests that the Paramount sale to Skydance is having an impact and that Alex Kurtzman's Secret Hideout may be winding down/losing the contract for all Star Trek production (we can hope!). But in the meantime we'll have three more seasons to enjoy.

You're reading too much into it. The economics of the streaming television model just favors shorter runs compared to the old network and cable days. It’s cheaper, there’s no real push for syndication anymore, and the streaming model is all about keeping subscribers hooked with a steady flow of new and varied content, rather than long-running shows with tons of episodes.
Also, the Paramount/Skydance deal is currently stalled for a variety of reasons. And Paramount is not exactly flush with cash. (Believe me – I work for them!)
Strange New Worlds is very good, so I hate to hear of its upcoming demise. Still, we'll soon have more Trek to enjoy and, hopefully, a new release of Nami Melumad's music for the show.
