I thoroughly appreciated Jeff chiming in and basically offering an apology for all the delays despite he's certainly not the one who should apologise publicly for the publisher's conduct. It speaks loudly about his integrity as a person and as a professional, in addition to him being the worldwide authority on Jerry Goldsmith's studies.

I'll keep waiting patiently for the volumes to be ready for shipping whenever everything has been double-checked and triple-proofed for publishing. I've waited DECADES to read such book... I can wait a few more months easily.

Totally agree with this !
Plus that regarding the reading of it, we the backers already have the digital full version of it.
Although I would prefer to read this thing with actual physical books in hands rather than two PDF onscreen to scroll endlessly.

I feel the same. I have the pdfs and I'm already doing what I would do with the physical books: skipping around and reading passages about different scores. It'll be great to have the hard copies, but I have the material for now.

I do hope that people aren't going to start saying, "I've got the PDFs, so it's okay with me if the hard copies don't come."

I wouldn't have backed this project for PDFs with ultra-low quality images.

That said, I appreciate them as a stop-gap.

I also appreciate that quality is more important than speed in terms of the final product.

I also appreciate Jeff speaking on behalf of the producers.

I don't mind it taking a bit longer for quality, but let's not lose sight of what we actually backed.

Cheers

Fully agree. And let's not forget this project was like 900% over-funded, that means they should be able to deliver in spades. There is surprisingly little information forthcoming what the actual delay is and why it's taking so long. Like others, I don’t mind delays or wait a little longer, and yes, put quality ahead over deadlines, but come on!

Frankly, I wish I'd just ordered the digital version. I'm fine with that and wouldn't have to endlessly speculate about the fate of the hardcopy product.

Yes, if the book isn't high quality given the level of funding, it'll be very disappointing.

Cheers

It is sad that the very first words on this thread are: Coming in 2022.

And here we are.

Just a side note: Lewis and Clark and entourage left St. Louis in May of 1804, travelling up the Missouri River in their keelboat and pirogues.

They made it to the Pacific Ocean in November of 1805, just a year and a half.

Another month-plus since the last "official"ish update with absolutely nothing.

Starting to think the Milwaukee Brewers will win a World Series before we get these books in our hands.

I think the original poster should edit the title of the thread: the word "upcoming" means "forthcoming: about to happen."

Good point. Just off the top of my head...

Theoretical? Possible? Rumored? Imaginary? Super-rare? Never-going-to-see-the-light-of-day? Take-the-money-and-run? Eternally delayed? PDF-only? Bull$#it?

Just a few suggestions. Feel free to add yours.

If I remember correctly, the photos will be B/W.

I can't help but whistle that 'Where The Money Is' track from THE DISTINGUISHED GENTLEMAN every time this thread gets bumped.

And laugh at Nic's beach/drinks photo. big grin

Can someone please help me with the pdf link? I am a backer, but didn’t download it because I wanted to wait for the book. Email in profile or message me at JWFan.
