I'm not a backer in this, so have no skin in this game, but the money is SOMEWHERE, surely? Possibly earning someone interest, even? It can't just be... gone? Can it?

My guess is White has put the money in some other hole, hoping that project would earn him enough profit to have the books printed — and somehow that plan didn’t fell through. Would be a dumb move. And possibly illegal. Sure, Kickstarter doesn't care, but fraud or embezzlement, and that’s what we are talking about in such a case, is still against the law, Kickstarter is not a liability-free zone. He had the money to print the books, and then some! So he didn't need another project to make money to print the books. He could have printed the books and still have money left for other projects. Books get published all the time, so it’s not as if that's hypercomplicated, especially not when you have the financial resources. Last update said books will be "in our hands" this year, which means they should be printed in early November at the latest (better October), considering that they then still need to be shipped around the world.

I can’t seem to find the “report this project” tab on the website. Just the smiley face/frown face buttons. You'll find report button underneath all the money that's been collected.

Reality: The Kickstarter campaign wrapped on June 15 at a bit over $171K - original goal, $19K. In one month, it will have been two YEARS since the campaign closed. They got all that money within a month, less the fees. The book was already written. So, let's add six months to get it formatted and photos in. Apparently, it had never occurred to have anyone proof the book. So, what, they send out PDFs last year and it's riddled with errors and suddenly the backers of the book are the proofers. That's done. Then the endless printer stuff, which has been going on long before the proofing debacle. And which continues. The questions are quite simple but no one wants to do an update and answer them: Is the book at the printers? A simple yes or no is all it takes. If so, when will they be delivered to the backers? If no, when WILL they be at the printers, a REAL date and timeline and when can the backers expect them - a real date and timeline. That's about it, really. And yet, simple as those questions are, they remain unanswered. I've known Taylor for many, many years now. I used to go to the Burbank store every Saturday and bought lots of goodies there. We've done a few things together. When I first saw the PDFs and what's been going on I wrote him and said I'd be happy to help. He said let's have lunch next week. That was many eons ago and I've never heard from him since. Things go awry. Things get to the "it's one thing after another" place. I understand all of it. What I will NEVER EVER understand on something like this is - silence. THAT is what has people talking about lawsuits and legal action. And it's so unnecessary. Do an update every couple of weeks. Even if things are stalled, tell people why and what's being done to move it along. That's all it would take and it's what should have been happening for the past year. Taylor, you're old pal is trying to be helpful. Please do an update.

I don't know whether the book is a the printers or not. One thing i do know is that everyone has been taken to the cleaners.
