Holy moly this is almost HALF AN HOUR more music than the old Varese album (which was already generous for them by 90s standards, at around 50 minutes). As my #1 favorite Kamen score this is a must-get for me. Very surprised a streaming version is being made available so soon... usually Varese Deluxe Editions become available 3-6 months after the physical CD release, at least.

Maybe Vares e Sarabande's changing with the times? Roll on Friday! Also maybe WaterTower is involved?
Oh yeah -- I'm sure seeing the written score will be super fascinating when it comes to alternates and such, which I believe you included in your book.

I did indeed. There were two weeks of sessions with some fairly significant cue changes between the first and second week. I was extremely privileged to have access to the master session tapes when making the book and being able to listen to the banter and comments between takes was absolutely fascinating!

If Varese is putting up digital for sale tomorrow, as well as cd, it begs the question... which to go for. I presume all their digital albums are 16bit? Not that 24 would make much of a difference, digital already has enough positives for me at the moment to maybe push it over the line.
I think one big downside to downloads is that liner notes aren't included. I think BSX/Dragon's Domain includes a digital booklet but I'm pretty sure Varese hasn't been doing so, so far.
That book cover is wonderful, would make a much better CD cover as well.
Looking forward to ordering this tomorrow. Since I will be getting HTTYD2 on CD I may as well get the CD for this over Digital as if I'm paying shipping for one title I may as well get both.
I must admit that I was actually expecting them to use some of the artwork made a few years ago for the film’s theatrical reissue (I can only assume the end credits track conforms to the suite used for the extended version of the film), but this cover art works fine in my opinion. Definitely curious about the extra cues added for the CD.
I'm not seeing any info about this being available on CD and/or through Varese. Is that actually confirmed, or is this just a digital download from Concord via Apple Music?

It'll be on their site tomorrow. It hasn't been officially announced by Varese. However, when they have a concurrent digital release that is available on streaming services, sometimes those services (in this case, Apple Music) will let the cat out of the bag because they show it in their "Coming Soon" category.
