The Alan Parrish theme is one of my favourites by Horner.
So sad and forlorn.
I consider this score an underrated gem in Horner's filmography.
Love the film too.

For some reason, this has always been my least favorite James Horner score; while I enjoy the opening theme, some of the music for some strange reason never really sounded like "Horner" to me, it somehow never "clicked". Therefore I have hardly listened to it, so I'm not very familiar with the score. Maybe I was just in the wrong mood and the score is great; I will revisit it and might get this new release nevertheless.

Wonderful news!

Was hoping for different kind of artwork though.
A couple of years ago, HudsonHawk made great custom cover art for Jumanji. It looks similar to the official Hook cover for the expanded LLL edition and would really do an expanded remastered edition justice.

Oh well. Nevertheless, glad this one is getting an expanded release.

A 2-CD set - Full score with the soundtrack album? Or another Legends Of The Fall?

I love this artwork. We tried to use it but it's exclusive for the home video release, so no such luck.

The third Horner release from Intrada this year, and possibly, potentially, perhaps the last, as their year's projection dropped Horner's name three times. The score seems rich and atmospheric. I've not seen the film, and I don't think I will, but I'm looking forward to the samples.

Gave this another listen a while ago. One of the few Horner scores that just doesn't gel with me, maybe an expansion will change things! Very excited.

This is one of my favorite Horner scores - can't wait to get it!

I wonder if the source music recorded for the film will be included?

Although I am excited for this release… I am disappointed in most releases in terms of sound quality…the sound is very thin.
A great example of a CD that was mastered really well; and sounds great on the ears is – ‘Cocoon’.
While – ‘The Rocketeer’ – was very thin… even the newer version; which sold out – was only a marginal improvement!
I hope the mastering on the newer CDs – go back to having awesome sound.

Soundtrack presentations like 'Jaws' – for example sounded awesome… now for some reason; the mastering seems to be going thinner – and the volume knob can only be turned up so high!
I hope you don’t disappoint this time – (Please?)
Sometimes those unmentionables are superior in terms of dynamics! – (Field Of Dreams being an example).

'Superman Returns' – is a score that was released in 2006 – and it still had thinner sound; while the commercial album presentation was superior in terms of dynamics…
What gives?

Yet – ‘Superman III’ – and – ‘IV’ – the sound was phenomenal on those!
(Superman: The Movie – and – ‘II’ – were mastered on the lower end of the spectrum)
(Superman: The Movie – (The Rhino album is still the best in my opinion; as it is the loudest).

It seems to me that the trend now-a-days is to master the scores at a low volume!
So please don't do that anymore...

Is it because of hiss?

Please master these CDs properly! The volume knob can only go so loud; especially on the iPod.

‘48 Hours’ – is another example; the older CD of the complete score – was louder in volume than the one we have now.
The commercial album of – ‘Another 48 Hours’ – is louder than the release which had recently gotten a complete score!
Do you see what I mean?

I hope – ‘Jumanji’ – is mastered effectively this time!

If it turns out like Legends of the Fall I'll give this another try. Listened to it once 20ish years back and it didn't gel with me, but neither did Legends....which turned out to be a knock out of the park when I got the expanded version.

Easily the worst of Horner's scores for Joe Johnston, just a lifeless assemblage of pieces from his other, better fantasy scores. Glad for fans, but I'll be skipping it.

Brilliant news! The 12 minute track ‘Jumanji’ is superb - looking forward to hearing in remastered sound along with the rest of the score and discovering some new tracks.

Intrada and La La Land really are treating us Horner fans!!

While I agree with some of what Reeve mentions above (we all know about THE ROCKETEER remastering and I also found GLORY and FIELD OF DREAMS a tad underwhelming in the sonic improvement stakes), I think Intrada's expanded re-issues of *BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED, BALTO, AN AMERICAN TAIL and THE LAND BEFORE TIME (off the top of my head) are superb.

I never got into the OST. I hope the expanded edition reveals an improved listening experience. This was a disappointment along with Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Something Wicked This Way Comes and Journey of Natty Gann.
