I love the very few things I've heard by Doldinger. They include Das Boot, The Neverending Story, Nonni Und Manni, and a couple of compilations with select tracks from his film music. That's just about all that I know of that's been released commercially. I want to find more info on his works and to see if there has ever been releases for them but everything is in German and I only speak English.

See here for a list (use Chrome translator feature): https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaus_Doldinger

I had no idea the sheer amount of work he's done for TV/Film. If any of these besides the ones I mentioned above have ever been released please post with information. I'd love to buy all of his works.

If you're open to music not attached to film, Doldinger was active for many years as leader of the German fusion band, Passport. Though inconsistent, Passport had a string of really good albums in the early 70s, Looking Through, Cross Collateral, and Infinity Machine. Powered by Doldinger's sax solos and Curt Cress's drumming, the album's had some catchy tunes and presented a decidedly European side to jazz-rock fusion, as opposed to the numerous U.S. groups that were spun off from Miles Davis. I saw them live once, opening for Ray Manzareck and interview Doldinger for a local rock publication. Unrelated--that same week I saw concerts with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and John Cage! What a week

I was going to mention that I'm also a Passport fan. No problems getting that material, it's pretty ubiquitous. What isn't, is his film music. It's probably even harder to acquire due to it being 1) mostly German and 2) probably never released.

Most of his film music work was composed for television and is unreleased as far as I know.

But there are some more soundtrack CDs not mentioned yet, which are available:
