So I'm positive there are a ton of threads like this but I felt like discussing. Given the announcement of Scarface by La La Land Records it really got me reflecting on what's left out there that was on my holy grail list. What are your favorite score(s) you still dream of seeing one day? And keep in mind, for this list, they don't need to have a realistic shot of ever being released. They just have to be something you'd love to see more than anything else.

Here is my list in ABC order -

Face/off
GoldenEye
Moonraker
Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
The Rock
Tomorrow Never Dies

What were some previous Holy Grails of mine that got released? I will list some of them again in ABC order.

Back to the Future series
Die Hard 3: With a Vengeance
Drop Zone
Independence Day
Jurassic Park 1 & 2
Lethal Weapon series
Scarface (Coming June 14th)
Speed

Overall I've been very fortunate to see my a majority of my list come to fruition. I don't know how realistic any of the Bond scores are anymore but I'm still holding out hope to see my three get another release.

The only reason I didn't include Indiana Jones is because of the Concord release even though it chopped up some songs. So I was a little iffy on whether or not to throw it but I should. I would buy a new Indiana Jones set in a heart beat.

Feature films:
Bridget Jones's Diary - Patrick Doyle - only one cue on the commercial soundtrack album of pop songs
The Talented Mr. Ripley - Gabriel Yared - 8 tracks on the commercial album, but I'm not sure how many are actual film cues, vs album suites
The Pianiist - Wojciech Kilar - only one track on the commercial album

TV Movies & Miniseries:
Years & Years - Murray Gold
Bangkok Hilton - Graeme Revell
Fatherland - Gary Chang
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency - Gabriel Yared - main title is on a Yared compilation disc, I believe Yared only scored the feature film, which ended up repurposed as a pilot for the TV series.
Wallander (UK series) - Martin Phipps

Mine are Thomas Newman's 'Deceived' or 'Naked Tango', or anything as-yet unreleased by Michael Convertino.
(I realise the chances of most of these are hovering around the 1% mark.. possibly less!!)

My remaining grails are down to this short list (because we have so much!):

The Spy Who Loved Me - film version
The Six Million Dollar Man - Oliver Nelson's stuff
Man From Atlantis - Fred Karlin
China Beach - Paul Chihara
Raise the Titanic - this is a lesser priority because the Nic Raine is so good, and the hope is so low.
Time After Time - I want Danny Gould's disco cue, which is all that's missing from the FSM CD.

Just a couple of LPs:

Hello-Goodbye (Francis Lai) Fox Records, now UMG

The oft mentioned Rozsa Conducts Rozsa (Miklos Rozsa) Polydor, now UMG

The Outlaw Josey Wales (Jerry Fielding) Warner Brothers. of course it would be great to have the whole score, but the album would do.

...& the Jerry Goldsmith complete Flint scores.

All the James Bond - The Missing Music is top of my Holy Grail list see below

A summary is listed below of roughly what is currently missing from each EON James Bond film score that has been released on CD to date :-

DR NO - tecnhically none of the orchestral score is released, around 15-20 minutes

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE - around 15 minutes

GOLDFINGER - around 15 minutes

THUNDERBALL -20-25 minutes, including some album only recordings and unfinished music

YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE - if you don't count re-edited cues, this one is mostly complete

ON HER MAJESTY’S SECRET SERVICE - around 10 minutes

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - 5 seconds

LIVE AND LET DIE - 5 seconds

THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN - around 25 minutes

THE SPY WHO LOVED ME - the whole score is missing, around 40 minutes

MOONRAKER - around 8-10 minutes

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY - around 10 minutes

OCTOPUSSY - around 25-30 minutes, but that doesn't include any circus music, that was library recording

A VIEW TO A KILL - around 16 minutes

THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS - around 8-10 minutes

LICENSE TO KILL - around 40 minutes

GOLDENEYE - about 20 mins, plus 5:52 for the John Altman tank chase cue

TOMORROW NEVER DIES - about 26 minutes

THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH - complete as per La La Land Records Release 2018

DIE ANOTHER DAY - complete as per La La Land Records Release 2017

CASINO ROYALE - around 10 minutes still to be released on CD

QUANTUM OF SOLACE- about 20 Minutes of music to still to be released on CD ?

SKYFALL - about 30 to 40 Minutes of music to still to be released on CD ?

SPECTRE - about 30 to 40 Minutes of music to still to be released on CD ?

NO TIME TO DIE - about 69 minutes

As you can see from above there is so much more music that us James Bond music fans are missing from a large number of the Bond films , so many great cues probably in total over 7 hours of unreleased music, that’s a huge amount of missing music, that deserves to be heard.

La La Land Records have already done a fantastic job of releasing 2 x expanded score versions The World is Not Enough in 2018 & Die Another Day in 2017 in chronological film order.

Let’s hope La La Land Records can continue releasing more James Bond expanded soundtracks now ‘NO TIME TO DIE ’ has been released & let’s hope this happens this year for 60th anniversary.

All of my actual "holy grails" have been released over the years, so as far as I'm concerned, there are no unreleased "holy grails" (can there even be a plural of a "holy grail"? Doesn't really make sense. smile ).

There are still a few scores that would be nice if they were everreleased, like Maurice Jarre's 5 CARD STUD or William Lava's THE GOOD GUYS AND THE BAD GUYS (the latter of which is probably of no interest to the labels, can't blame them, it's a fairly obscure composer and a lesser known movie).

But "holy grails"? Nope. I've got all of mine.
