So how can every season so far have one or two score CDs released per season and the soundtrack for season 4 leaves off off the best track of the entire season (if not series)? If you don’t know what I’m talking about it’s the final score track in 0409.

I guess because it is composed by Rob Simonsen, and the score albums only include Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein material. I hope all the score parts composed by Rob Simonsen this season will be released from the 'Running Up that hill' remix from episode 4 to the 'eleven's theme' from episode 8 to this episode 9 finale. They re all amazing!

Simonsen also arranged/composed the last track of Ep8 which had a particularly moving string version of 11's theme. Would love to hear that in its entirety away from the sound FX and visuals.
I think the added orchestral parts really helped elevate the show emotionally this season. I do hope Simonsen's work will get released somehow. The studio would be silly not to capitalize on their good fortune (ha, I just quoted Yes' CHANGES from 90125- lol).
Re: Running Up That Hill from Ep4. I think that might get into royalties to Kate Bush so it's unlikely we will ever hear that great cue (the End Credits)...
And apart from the absence of some notable tracks, including that finale, the album tracks aren't in chronological order.
This YT poster has ripped all 3 Simonsen tracks- Ep 4, 8 and 9. Not sure how they were able to get such good quality off a rip- there is no mixing down of the music to accommodate FX or dialogue, which is normally indicative of video rips. My guess is this is someone on the inside who has access to the original mixes from the sessions. Not that I'm complaining. All three tracks are utterly fantastic. Glad they posted them

Someone posted on this videos comments section that Simonsen confirmed that his contributions will be release at some point. Fingers crossed!

The demand is there for sure. Easily the most emotional and memorable cues from Season 4. IMO

Great find! Someone from inside for sure. So we may get a third physical release from S4 together with the VA album & the Dixon and Michael Stein's.
Just finished season 4. I think this may have been the best season yet, musically speaking.
I didn't particularly care for Simonsen's strings-efforts though. It made it sound like any other Hollywood-movie. Stranger Things needs a purely electronic score from start to finish IMO. It fits the universe.

I think the Phil Glass tracked under Vecna’s backstory was one of the best uses of music I’ve seen in the last few years. Then again Ep. 7 was by far the most compelling instalment of this season. Truly incredible.
