What are you talking about?

It occurs at the end of the scene where Kirk and Sarek look over the security footage showing Spock give McCoy his Katra. The bit occurs at 29:20 into the movie.

The two tracks it combines are

Spock Endures Pon Farr
The Klingon's Plan

I've tried recreating that section of music but the tracks as presented simply don't work.

Are you saying that these combined cues appear separately in the film, or does this edit affect the LP program?

There's a tracked piece in the film that combines those two recordings. As it was editorially created after scoring and not an actual performance or composition it's not included on the album.

Blows my mind anyone could've missed out on the original expanded releases of ST:II and ST:III. Those are holey grails. I understand if someone didn't have the funds at the time but haven't they been in production for a good ten years? I would've sold my grandmothers Oxycodone to finance these purchases if I had to.

I honestly still play my GNP's, yeah, I know I am nuts

Those are holey grails.

Someone should get some spackle and fill those in, then...
wink

ST-TMP, II, & III are formative soundtrack experiences for me. I think the original soundtrack albums are beautifully assembled, and I listened to them endlessly for a decade or two. It took me a long time to really take in and appreciate the expanded releases of all three of these soundtracks.

IF there are no changes, I will not quadruple-dip on this ST-III (I have already triple-dipped so many of upgrades and remasters in the past 18 mo) but I'll be right there if it suddenly gets LLL's ST-II treatment.

Well if it sounds better and has something additional Im all in!

…and…

I wonder if Cat's Eye will also have the Ray Stephen's song that was used in the movie

Roger said "Straight reissues, the both of them."

This sounds more up LLL's alley. (Fun fact, produced by Jacques (of The Village People fame) Morali!)

Great news about Cats Eye, though I sure wish that it could also be available as a digital only option too. Dragons Domain style

Though I’d have a spending spree if Intrada had that option on their releases! ??

Give me a shout Pooter ( e-mail in profile). Might be able to help you out.

As much as I love the expanded edition I have to admit the OST playlist for WOK is perfection.

There we differ. I remember the day I finally rearranged the GNP ST-2 into film order, and I liked it much better. Then the FSM expansion was better than that, and now the LLL has much better sound quality.

Regarding the new ST-3, I have the FSM edition, so I'm all set. ST-5 was the same situation: Intrada's release was for people who missed the LLL expansion.

I only became aware of La La Land Records around 2011/2012 and Intrada a little bit after. Every time I’ve looked for the ST:III release it has been sold out. So I’m definitely getting it.
