This Conti scored 1979 film is coming out on Blu-ray in August! It's a day one buy for me, I love Conti's music for the film.

I've never seen this film. The Conti penned song with Carol Connors, "Slow Down I'll Find You" is on YouTube and is typical of Conti's style. Vocal by the star of the film, Susan Anton.

If there's enough Conti score, maybe this is a potential score release by one of the labels. I'll probably pick this up. Scorpion is releasing the blu ray, so maybe there will be some bonus content.

Not only did Conti write the music for the song, but co-wrote the lyrics too!

I read the novel in high school. Then I had to check out the movie when it debuted on NBC, but I don't remember a thing.

At that time, I was very drawn to the idea of someone who could be a superior physical specimen, and great-looking besides, in sunny California. That was part of the bionic shows' appeal as well.

I've seen "Goldengirl" and when it ended I felt like I had sat through a truncated version of what was once a longer film. I then found out that it was first intended to be a TV miniseries, and a longer cut was even broadcast in a three-hour time slot on NBC in 1981:

So there is definitely some interesting history behind this production, but I don't know if Scorpion Releasing plans to invest in extras for the Blu-ray.

That said, I do remember this film being entertaining and I recall the music being good. Kind of "Patton"-like in places, if I remember correctly.

Why do I feel like the song is trying to put me to sleep? Well, if you compare it with Conti's ROCKY II GONNA FLY NOW Kids running and singing version.

I wonder if Susan Anton would have made a good Jaime Sommers/The Bionic Woman. The one thing Lindsay Wagner lacked in the role was convincing athleticism, and it looks like Anton had it in spades.

Anton at that time would be even more of a shoe-in to play Supergirl.

Yes, it looks like this was held back specifically to include extras, which is a great idea because this film has an interesting history that should be addressed. But I guess they weren't to locate - or they did but couldn't include - the TV cut or the additional scenes from it.

The new extras include an interview with Susan Anton, who will be 72 when the blu ray releases.

Also an interview with supporting actor Nicolas Coster, now in his late 80s, who was also interviewed for Scorpion's blu ray of Slow Dancing In The Big City.

There's also an audio commentary by Howard S. Berger & Nathaniel Thompson.

No doubt the Bill Conti piece was done at the same time as the Slow Dancing interview.

So, I'll probably pick this up just to hear Conti's score, since it has never had a soundtrack release. Maybe there wasn't enough score.

It's a sparse score from what I can recall. It's good and Conti fans will especially appreciate it.

Hey guys this is a great disc! It's got a great score and song by Conti, and he even co-wrote the lyrics. It also has a special feature of Conti talking about his career highlights. There's also a special feature with Susan Anton who says nice things about Conti. I haven't listened to the commentary yet though.
