Me. I'm sure most of the members of this board did not get it.

Up to now, no I haven't been afflicted by it. Just hope that continues to be the case! And, yes, I've had to be at work during the whole damn thing. I was a "key worker". Who knew??!

Up until a month ago, I coulda raised my hand but I finally got it by it at the start of June. Not too bad, post-Covid was worse for two weeks.

I dunno, probably. I felt really awful for 3 or 4 days in Feb. 2021. I felt like I had a ton of bricks on my chest. This was before there was testing for Covid, so I don’t know for sure. I work in an ALF and quite a few co-workers had Covid.

Actually we’re having a mini Covid outbreak at work right now. One resident and two employees.

All that said I’ve been tested constantly for almost two years (since testing became available) and it’s always came out negative.

Why do you think that?

Because they don’t get out much, nor enjoy contact with other humans? big grin I think that’s a bit of a sweeping statement!

I had it in February, very mild, didn’t miss any work (wfh) just like an ordinary cold, I’ve had much worse. I then generously gave it to Mrs TG, who had the same symptoms as I did, but got a week off work because she goes into an office.

Where’s the justice in that?

My husband and I have had the two original shots and then the two booster shots. In early June after attending a party, my husband got covid. It was a very mild case.

I did not catch it, but then I relegated him to the other side of the house and held up crucifixes if he came near me.

I'm hoping that by September, another booster that guards against the new variants will be available as we are going to Italy in October.

I have not, but people around me have (though not my spouse). I'm vaccinated, bolstered, get occasionally tested, but have not had Covid-19.

Some people seem to have that higher resistance. I did not get it despite close contact with family members who did.

Yup, I haven't had it yet. I live alone & that probably helps, but I get around London a lot & always use public transport. I always wear a mask, I stopped wearing them about a about a month ago, but have started again with the latest outbreak, which seems quite mild from what I've heard. I did get two really bad colds last year (& usually I go for years without getting a cold), the one over Christmas I didn't manage to shake off 'till the end of January. What's left of the family got together a week before Christmas, & one of us (a nurse as it happens) had a cold & seven out of eleven of us caught it, & it was a real humdinger, I haven't felt so ill in ages (& I know it was just a cold, as the hospital where she works checked her out). So, er, no...but there are some nasty colds doing the rounds.

Joan, we were in Italy a month or so ago. I’m sure your travel agent will tell you, but they’re still very keen on masks in that part of Europe. All the shops insisted on them, and you’re supposed to wear them walking around in restaurants but that was less strictly enforced.

The mask you need is FFP2 grade, which we had to buy before going. I found they were great because they’re vented and my glasses didn’t mist up, which has plagued me ever since lockdown.

I picked covid up at an Irish-African wedding which we both attended. Not sure brandishing a crucifix would have been a good look.

My wife and I still haven’t had it, to our knowledge.

BTW, I was told our local hospital is completely full again with Covid patients. So the news it’s spreading is true.

Not yet. I've had my booster shot and I still wear a mask, I think I always will it doesn't bother me, I just don't feel comfortable without it. I've recently read that if you've had Covid you can catch it again rather easily, and the more you have it the worse it will get, so stay vigilant guys!smile

Hi joan! The updated vaccine will probably be out in the fall, I'm being especially carefull until then. It's supposed to be very effective against past, current and future strains of the virus!

TG, thanks for that information about Italy. Henry, I hope that new booster is here by September.
