JURASSIC PARK: LIMITED EDITION (2-CD SET)
Music by John Williams
Limited Edition of 5000 Units

RETAIL PRICE: $29.98
STARTS SHIPPING JULY 5

La-La Land Records, Universal Studios and Amblin Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Geffen Records present JURASSIC PARK, a limited 2-CD re-issue presentation of maestro John Williams’ (JAWS, STAR WARS, SCHINDLER’S LIST) original motion picture scores to the 1993 blockbuster JURASSIC PARK starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum and directed by Steven Spielberg. Williams’ monumental JURASSIC PARK score teems with thematic orchestral wonder and is celebrated as one of the composer’s most accomplished works. Produced, edited and mastered by Mike Matessino, (with fresh outputs of the 192k/24 bit master files utilized in our 2016 collection) this re-issue utilizes that material to re-create the original 1993 soundtrack album. This is featured on Disc 2 and is followed by the source music track “Stalling Around” (the composer’s homage to classic Warner Bros. cartoon music for Jurassic’s “Mr. DNA” sequence). Disc 1 showcases the entire main Score Presentation, which now includes, for the first time, the performances and mixes of “Journey To the Island” and “Dennis Steals The Embryo” as heard in the film. The 28-page CD booklet features liner notes by Matessino (adapted from our 2016 collection) and the new art design is by Jim Titus. This is a limited edition of 5000 Units.

Ah, ha! I always thought the film version of Journey to The Island sounded different somehow?

I own the previous release and I find kind of rude that the FILM SCORE PRESENTATION now comes on one sole cd and not divided on two.

Will pass this release. The same master... All the tracks from the old release in one CD... Now new real material... But I'm glad the people who lost the first release will now have the opportunity to own it.

I think there is an edit in Journey to the Island in the movie. The scene was obviously intended to be longer, as in the trailer there is a scene of Laura Dern reaching and grabbing the plants when they are travelling in the jeep. That moment isn't in the movie.

I always thought it was some kind of error on the released version of the movie. I remember there was a kind of "pop" in the moment this scene skips. Then, a few seconds later, she has the plant in her hand.
Its only a one-two seconds shot. The reason I remember some strange sound/skip is that this was the first movie released in theaters with "digital" audio and I found odd that there seemed to have a defect in the audio (and I went twice to see it in the theater) - I was also familiar with the trailer scene and thought it was an odd omision in the movie.

I’m sure LLL would not reproduce film edits that cut out parts of the music (the duration of the track is the same). Probably just using the proper film takes for some section or some inserts that were not on the album version.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Lost World got a re-issue at some point too. But happy those that missed out can grab this. Sounds great.

Hmmm, so there's nothing new compared to the previous release?
AND this adds all those redundant stuff from the album?
And that's not even getting into the fact that Lost World isn't a part of this.

Well that's an easy to skip release isn't it.

Not for those who didn't get the earlier 4 CD set.

So it seems that disc 1 alone is worth the price of admission?

I wish LLL would re-issue the Harry Potter in separate releases.
