After the newest trailer, there's a clear intention of connection with Howard Shore, but strangely there's no official confirmation of a composer (or composers) now less than two moths away from the premiere of the series.

Any news about it?

We've had nothing since that dubious Vanity Fair article a few months ago. If the composer or composers are not officially announced this month, then certainly he or they will be announced some time in August. The series is set to premiere in very early September.

The comments of that video are interesting. A few people are stating as fact that Howard Shore is the composer, but I don't know if that's because of the misleading Vanity Fair article (which, if I recall correctly, was re-edited to exclude Shore's name) or because of something else they read or heard.

I've also seen people here saying that Bear McCreary is involved. I don't know if that's true, but I like his work, so I hope he is involved. Shore and McCreary are great, so a collaboration between the two of them would be pretty awesome. This is one of the few scores of recent times that I am actually looking forward to.

Omigosh! That opening theme is wonderful, and it's either Shore's main title theme or McCreary doing an even better Shore impression than before.

The cues afterwards I love too, even though that one theme by McCreary is still distractingly close to his great theme for Gaal in Foundation:

It's not just me, right? They are really close!

It's not my cup of tea (most McCreary isn't), but …ehh… whatever rocks yer boat.

I'm pretty sure the opening piece (almost two minutes I think) is Shore, not McCreary.

Bear McCreary is for me the confirmed new Jerry Goldsmith I was waiting for 20 years.

Not the same style, but same level of talent and technique.
With his own very distinctive voice. Unique.

No one but him gives me so much enthusiasm since Jerry's passing.

I largely agree with you, but feel that way about John Powell even moreso. (Also, Panu Aaltio and Carlos Rafael Rivera are definitely talents to watch!)

And... I missed it as the video is no longer available due to copyright claim.

And now I realize it was not legitimate. Oups!
Sorry to the McCreary estate for having posted the Youtube link.
Don't know who is behind that Youtube channel btw.
I just found it by chance while browsing Youtube under Bear McCreary's name, narrowing the research on videos of the day.
Let's wait Sept 2...

Didn't this same thing happen last time when DUNE was released?
