Slow Dancing In The Big City DVD just arrived a few days ago. Have been eagerly awaiting to see it since I missed its brief theatrical run. And now this news. Unbelievable. He has always been a favorite. Liked him very much in That Championship Season and Reds, to name a few. Ouch.

You know, I've never seen this movie but its been on my mind since Varese put out that score with FIST. I love the balletto.

I just saw it two months ago. Sappy, but in a good way. It's not a film for the cynical. Conti pushes it over the finish line.

Wow... I just posted about the late David Warner in a different thread, only to notice this one. Warner meant more to me, in part because I had discovered him much sooner. But Sorvino's talent and range had impressed me in the romantic comedy/drama A TOUCH OF CLASS, when his character eventually reveals an unexpected aspect of vulnerability. While I wasn't a fan of SLOW DANCING IN THE BIG CITY overall back then, he was quite good in what I think was his only lead role. Based strictly on talent, he deserved even more of them.

I wish condolences to his daughter and family.

First time I saw Paul Sorvino was in OH GOD! where he played the evangelist Willy Williams. What a great performance that was. I was lucky to meet Mr. Sorvino when I worked as an extra on the TV Show THE OLDEST ROOKIE (1987) in which he starred. We were in the make-up trailer sitting next to each other and he was most kind and appreciative when I told him how much I had enjoyed him in OH GOD! He said it was a very fun role for him. Rest in Peace Paul Sorvino and John Denver. OH GOD! was in 1977, not 1997 as written on this video. Condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Remembering fondly Paul Sorvino with one of Bill Conti's most beautiful compositions.

One of Quinn Martin's few failures, and it was a spinoff of "The Streets Of San Francisco". R.I.P. Paul Sorvino.
