Now what is this thing?? Another 2022 upcoming 2 volumes spanish book set on Jerry Goldsmith...also prefaced by Robert Towson as the Christian Aguilera book?? https://rosebudbandasonora.com/tienda/es/inicio/30662-jerry-goldsmith-versatil-estratega-emocional.html LIBRO. PRESENTADO EN DOS TOMOS INDIVIDUALES Títulos: JERRY GOLDSMITH. VERSÁTIL ESTRATEGA EMOCIONAL VOLUMEN I JERRY GOLDSMITH. VERSÁTIL ESTRATEGA EMOCIONAL VOLUMEN II Autor: Joan Bosch Hugas Prólogo de Robert Townson (en el VOLUMEN I) Nº páginas: 709 Dimensiones: 17,00 x 24,00 cms aprox. (cada tomo) Fotografías: Más de 500 fotográfias a Color & B/N Idioma: Castellano I've been aware of this for some time. I don't have a huge library of books on film music, and I'm not a frequent "user" of Facebook, but I did spend some time consulting the FB page of author and artist Juan Bosch Hugas (Catalan I imagine, from his name), and I would wager that this book will be a valuable addition to the libraries of collectors of film music literature. I notice that there are many of us here at FSM (including LK himself) who are FB "friends" with el Sr. Bosch Hugas - I know these are not "real" friendships, more like blow-up doll relationships, but I've seen plenty of photos of the author with many film music luminaries, so I don't doubt that he's legit. I think he did the Miklós Rózsa book "Fiel a sus Raíces" ("Faithful/Loyal to His Roots" would be a possible translation of that title, although I'm not sure that it was ever made available in English). Another well-known name from the world of film music - in Spain at least - is Conrado Xalabarder. I've just read a review of Volume 1 of the new book, and it's a good one. And not because it's all "three cheers for this great book" but rather because it says that some of the opinions and interpretations of musical intentions expressed will not be shared by everyone. Xalabarder also mentions the warm words of Robert Townson towards the author in the intro to Vol. 1. At 709 pages (the total of the two volumes I imagine), this must have been in the works for some time. I suppose that it's just coincidental that it's appearing more or less at the same time as Jeff Bond's new books on Goldsmith.
