Years ago, I came across a soundtrack to the Big Valley television show on vinyl which has since disappeared. Do you think there are still possibilities that the BG and other still unreleased LP's might made a CD release someday? In the nineties, there were some cassette releases of novelty soundtracks that again never came out on CD. Again, are there hopes that some boutique companies like La La Land records might consider putting them out?
25 years ago I sold my LP soundtrack collection to a new record store chain that was opening in my area. Before the deal was closed I made sure my favorites were transferred to CD. Happy to say the LP of The Big Valley was one of them. Needless to say, most have made it to CD release which I did buy,but not The Big Valley. I hope your wish comes true, but the labels don’t seem to be interested in westerns anymore. Look at the titles they come out with these days. Sci-fi , Horror, and titles that include the word “ death”.
There was an episode with music by Herschel Burke Gilbert, though it's not known if it was tracked or rerecorded library music. Gilbert's orchestrator Joseph Mullendore (credited as "Mullendore") and Lalo Schifrin scored some episodes too. By the way, doesn’t the main title sound like a song without lyrics (“The BIG Vall-EY”)?
There is an unmentionable on CD (apparently a transfer from an LP) which contains 10 tracks by George Duning from The Big Valley and 15 tracks of David Rose's music from Bonanza. It's not clear whether any of it is actual score tracks from the show or is a re-recorded knock-off. Unfortunately I can't really tell from what you've said whether this Big Valley recording is the one you're describing.

That particular rerecording was recorded in Italy by an orchestra under the direction of Ray Heindorf.
Has anyone else heard that there were actual lyrics to the Big Valley theme song written by Jackie Barnett. Does anyone know if this really existed? Was it for a specific episode? Any help would be appreciated. I would love to hear the song or just read the lyrics. Thanks.

Jackie Barnett copyrighted some lyrics in 1965, so I guess they really exist. But I have no idea what they are.
The music was published by BNP Publishing Co., which was owned by Four Star Television, the producers of "The Big Valley." Four Star International is now owned by Disney.
