Didn't check out the Beck episodes but good that they sound better. I was a bit disapointed by the quality of the music I listened so far (only Wander). But the most interesting thing so far was Murphys music in the end of I Robot You Jane. I knew there was music during the scene where Jenny and Giles try to get Moloch back in the book but it was nearly completely drowned. Now I actually know what Murphy wrote for this scene. His "I Robot You Jane" score is actually quite good occasionally.

Yeah that final cue in "I Robot" which I have decided to call "Offline" in my rip collection is almost 6 minutes long, and not bad at all! wink

Yeah besides the showdown cue there is at least 2-4 minutes of cool stuff in that episode. But I'll probably re-use my cue titles. "Offline" is too normal for my tastes smile Coming up with the worst cue titles and puns ever is half the fun of this project big grin

Here's the rescore of the penultimate Episode of Season 1, "Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight".

The Buffy/Cordelia Music:
In Passion Of The Nerd's Buffy Guide for this Episode, he makes the point that Cordelia is Buffy's path not taken or a what if Buffy wouldn't heve got her slayer powers. And my Buffy theme is actually a "Buffy didn't really accepted slayer role yet" Theme. So I simply combined those two ideas, changed some chords so this is now Cordelia's theme as well. Since this Episode is about both Characters similarities: Popularity, May Queen... I thought both of them should have a similar theme. Or to be more specific: Cordelias theme is Buffy's theme, at an earlier stage.
Stage One:
-Popular, May Queen, Cheerleading
Stage Two:
-Slayer Powers, but not turning away from it or as of 1x01: "I'm the Slayer and I'm retired"
Stage Three:
-Accepting or growing into the Slayer (this will happen in Prophecy Girl)

The Marcie Music:
Not that complex. Marcie is invisible, mad, lonely and so is her music.

HD Remaster.
I'm still amazed that except the flying baseball bat EVERY SINGLE special effect shot is actally recreated and not cheaply and badly upscaled... Unbelievable.. The missing grain and colors are still terrible but we have new and updated special effects. NEW SPECIAL EFFECTS! 11 EPISODES IN WE FINNALY GOT SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF THIS REMASTER...

DVD and HD Remaster.
When Willow notices the MIBs/FBIs at 20:04 the shots are in the wrong order. I fixed that.

Here're both 4:3 and 16:9 using the sweet sweet 5.1 mix:

Thanks. I tried to use the B/A theme as often as possible. But the appearance in "The Codex" sadly seems to be the last full version of that theme in Season 1.

All Episodes are now remastered and using the 5.1 Mix (Nightmares is not up yet but will be in a few hours).

Progress on Prophecy Girl is good. Only 2 Cues with a combined length of 3 Minutes still need to be written.
Prophecy Girl will release on Valentine's Day, 14.02.2024.

So... 1 1/2 years later, 183 Cues totalling 4,5 hours of Score (and 3 minutes of shameless tracking) I now present the final Episode of this project, the Season 1 finale: "PROPHECY GIRL"

Instead of new themes in this one since it's the big wrap up this Episode only contains already existing music like the doomed theme from Episode 2 & 5, which is sort of the main theme for this episode. The actual main theme for this episode is... the main theme of the Show.

I used Nerf Herder's Buffy Theme since 1x01 everytime Someone talks about the Prophecy or something other Slayer related and since this is the episode where she is truly becoming (see what i did there) the Slayer, it only made sense to use it for her once she accepts her role while she talks to Willow in cue 12M06.
Cue 12M06 is contains also the last variation of my Buffy theme. It appears in full glory (see what i did there) when Buffy is in her dress and while she talks to Willow an extreme slowed down version plays before it gets replaced by NH's Theme.

Thank both of you. Looking back it was definitely a fun time doing these 12 scores. At least mostly. I hope you didn't notice the difference between the cues I had to write and the ones I wanted to write... Also great that Season 1 allowed with its mostly monster of the week structure for the score to be quite unique and different each time so it didn't too repetitive. To bad S1 didn't had a "HUSH" though. A lot of times I wished the characers would stop talking smile But still, the few cinematic moments where the score could really shine made it all worth it.

And wow, that "I Feel Strong And The Hellmouth Opens" track with the main theme was totally freaking awesome!!

I tried in all the episodes to get the transitions between cue and opening credits/end credits/bronze song/whatever right but here I went the extra route and wrote the cue in the same tempo as the MT to make the transition as good as possible and I'm happy you liked it.

So, whats next?? big grin

The 1992 Buffy Movie?
The 9 1/2 Episodes of Season 2 not scored by Beck?
More of Obi Wan-Kenobi?
The complete Jodie Whittaker era of Doctor Who?

probably those big grin

The Rescore OST (or RST?) is now available on all major Streaming Services.

I have to admit something: The provider I use to upload the music does not allow the album to have more than 30 Tracks. But I wanted it to be one big 2 hour long release. So for a split of a Second I thought about the brilliant Idea to make longer suites like the new Blake Neely releases. Then I had an even better Idea: not to do that. So it's two Volumes:

VOLUME 1 (Episodes 1-7)
https://artists.landr.com/TheSlayerVol-1

VOLUME 2 (Episodes 8-12)
https://artists.landr.com/TheSlayerVol-2

If 2 hours are still too long, here's the solution: An official composer/producer approved 70 Minute Whittle

01. Buffy's Theme
02. (1x01) The Master Returns
03. (1x02) My Blood Is Your Blood
04. (1x02) Escape
05. (1x03) Something Wicked This Way Comes
06. (1x03) Defeating The Witch
07. Willow And Xander
08. (1x06) Possessed
09. (1x05) Buffy vs Borba
10. (1x04) There's A Bug In My Basement
11. (1x07) You're Not One Of Them
12. (1x07) Buffy And Angel
13. (1x07) Buffy Prepares
14. (1x08) Cortana, Italy
15. (1x08) Willow And Malcolm
16. (1x08) Showdown At CRD
17. (1x09) The Puppet Show Suite
18. (1x10) It Was You
19. (1x10) Nightmares
20. (1x11) Cordelia
21. Out Of Mind, Out Of Sight Theme
22. (1x12) The Beginning Of The End
23. (1x12) You're The One That Sets Me Free
24. (1x12) The Final Showdown, Part 2
25. (1x12) We Saved The World

NEXT TIME:

I haven't started writing yet but it's gonna be 25 cues and 32 minutes of music.

Good job! I loved the use of Darla and Angel themes!

The Darla theme is one of my favorites! So mysterious and sad at the same time.

Those two themes are my favorite from Angel (so far, still two seasons to go). Sadly the Angel theme didn't survive the Composer change in S2. Would've loved to hear more from it.

Thank you so much for creating these. I'm really enjoying them!

Acathla, if you ever decide to post your files, please let us know. Like DaveM for so long, I've never figured out how to get my hands on the 5.1 version. Not from lack of trying but more like lack of brainpower...

I don't know if there's a way to DM on here, but if they are available, I would certainly appreciate it. I realize it's many hours.

I enjoyed reading your entertaining comments.
