It looks to me like maybe Decca's description of this being a 2-CD release is a misprint? The Quartet release contained 70 tracks, but the Decca web page lists only 26 tracks. Although the page refers to 2 CDs in a couple of places (including the URL), the written description says "La Dolce Vita will be available on 2LP vinyl and on CD ...." A release of a single CD / double LP would also be consistent with their previous release of Amarcord. In any event, I would expect the Quartet to still be the go-to, definitive release of this title.

I love this score as much as any. Thrilled that it's being released by a major label. Now, there is another Rota score for a film celebrating its 50th Anniversary that would be most welcomed. . . .

Without checking the data, my recollection is that we pretty much used everything in 2017 to make Quartet’s 2-CD set as comprehensive as possible. We rebuilt the original album from the session masters too for better quality. A great score deserving to be accessible to all, and, of course, the Quartet is still available should you wish to support it: https://quartetrecords.com/product/la-dolce-vita/ Chris

Yes, as you can see on this Amazon UK website it is just a single CD with probably 60-65 minutes Amazon's listings can be unreliable. Decca's listing clearly states it is two CDs, but the track listing does not indicate a CD1/CD2 split in the track list, which is confusing. Cheers

Amazon's listings can be unreliable. Just have a look on the CAM Sugar website and it is now for sure that Decca is releasing only a single CD of LA DOLCE VITA, not a 2 CD set. It is number 3 in their Heritage Collection: https://camsugarmusic.com/products/la-dolce-vita-cd
